The question above may be solved using the overall mass and component balances. If we let x be the number of liters of peroxide that should be added, the final mixture will have a quantity of x+12 L. The peroxide balance before and after mixing is,
                            x(1) + 12(0.08) = (x + 12)(0.16)
The value of x is 1.143. Thus, approximately 1.143 L of peroxide should be added to the original solution.

Lets say you add x liters of peroxide
then the total number of liters will be 12+x
presently you have 8% of 12 or .96 liters of peroxide
when you add x liters you will have .96+x liters of peroxide total
you want that to be 16% of (12+x) so set

.96+x=.16(12+x)
solve for x
multiply both sides by 100

96 + 100x = 16(12+x)
96 + 100x = 192 + 16x
84x = 96
x = 1.19

So 1.19 liters

How many moles of cesium xenon heptafloride can be produced from the reaction 12 mol cesium Floride with 14 mol xenon hexaflorid
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

12 moles of cesium xenon heptafluoride

Explanation:

The reaction of cesium fluoride with xenon hexafluoride is CeF + XeF6 -> CeXeF7 and the reaction is balanced as written. So the mole ratio is 1:1:1. We are given 12 moles of CeF and 14 moles of XeF6 are reacting, but after the 12 moles of CeF react completely, the reaction will stop as we have run out of one of our reactants. So only 12 moles of CeXeF7 will be produced.

The boiling point of an aqueous solution is 102.08 °C. What is the freezing point? Constants can be found here.
enyata [817]

Colligative properties calculations are used for this type of problem. Calculations are as follows:

ΔT(freezing point)  = (Kf)(molality)
ΔT(freezing point)  = 1.86 °C kg / mol (molality)
Tf - 102.08 = 1.86m

Tf = 1.86m + 102.08

The concetration of the solution is needed in order to obtain a specific value.
