At 9°C a gas has a volume of 6.17 L. What is its volume when the gas is at standard temperature?
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

V₂ = 5.97 L

Explanation:

Given data:

Initial temperature = 9°C (9+273 = 282 K)

Initial volume of gas  = 6.17 L

Final volume of gas = ?

Final temperature = standard = 273 K

Solution:

Formula:

The Charles Law will be apply to solve the given problem.

According to this law, 'the volume of given amount of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature at constant number of moles and pressure'

Mathematical expression:

V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂

V₁ = Initial volume

T₁ = Initial temperature

V₂ = Final volume

T₂ = Final temperature

Now we will put the values in formula.

V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂

V₂ = V₁T₂/T₁

V₂ = 6.17 L ×  273K /  282  k

V₂ = 1684.41 L.K / 282 K

V₂ = 5.97 L

The energies of the bonds broken in a certain reaction are greater than the energies of the bonds formed. Which one of the follo
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

a. The reaction is endothermic.

Explanation:

The heat involved in a chemical reaction is given by the enthalpy change (ΔH), which is equal to the balance between the chemical bonds that are broken (release energy) and the chemical bonds that are formed (need energy):

ΔH ≅ bonds broken - bonds formed

If broken bonds > bonds formed ⇒ ΔH > 0 ⇒ endothermic reaction

Therefore, the reaction is endothermic (it requires energy).

The pressure on a sample of gas is increased from 1.0 atm to 3.0 atm. If the new volume is 0.52 L, find the original volume.
swat32

Answer: 1.56 ATM

Explanation: if we assume temperature is constant, gas obeys

Boyles law pV= constant. Then p1·V1= p2·V2. And V1 = p2V2/p1

= 3.0 atm·0,52 l / 1.0 atm

How i the ma number of an atom calculated? (1 point)
Bess [88]
Proton plus neutron is the correct answer. Protons and neutrons have a mass of 1 and electrons have a mass of 0. So in order to find the mass of an atom you need to add the number of protons and the number of neutrons.
