Answer:

19 cm

Explanation:

inner radius, a = 16 cm, C = 113 p F = 113 x 10^-12 F

Let b cm be the radius of outer sphere.

The formula of capacitance of spherical capacitor is given by

C = 4π∈0 a b / (b - a)

a b / ( b - a) = C / 4π∈0

a b / ( b - a ) = 113 x 10^-12 x 9 x 10^9

a b / ( b - a ) = 1.017

16 x 10^-2 x b x 10^-2 = 1.017( b - 16) x 10^-2

0.16 b = 1.017 b - 16.272

0.857 b = 16.272

b = 19 cm

A 3.10-mm-long, 430 kgkg steel beam extends horizontally from the point where it has been bolted to the framework of a new build
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that,

The length of the beam L = 3.10m

The mass of the steam beam m_1 = 430kg

The mass of worker m_2 = 69.0kg

The distance from  the fixed point to centre of gravity of beam = \frac{L}{2}

and our length of beam is 3.10m

so the distance from  the fixed point to centre of gravity of beam is

\frac{3.10}{2}=1.55m

Then the net torque is

=-W_sL'-W_wL\\\\=-(W_sL'+W_wL)

W_s is the weight of steel rod

=430\times9.8=4214N

W_w is the weight of the worker

=69\times9.8\\\\=676.2N

Torque can now be calculated

-(4214\times1.55+676.2\times3.9)Nm\\\\-(6531.7+2637.18)Nm\\\\-(9168.88)Nm

≅ 9169Nm

<h3>Therefore,the magnitude of the torque is 9169Nm</h3>

A rock formed with 1,000 atoms of a radioactive parent element, but only contains 250 radioactive parent atoms today. If the hal
alisha [4.7K]

Answer:

age of rock is 2 million years

Explanation:

M_{R}=\frac{M_{O} }{2^{n} }

Where M_{R} is mass remaining

            M_{R} is original mass

         n= t/t(1/2) , which is the ratio of time to half life

M_{O} = 1000atoms

M_{R} =250 atoms

250 =\frac{1000}{2^{n} }

2^{n} = \frac{1000}{250}\\  2^{n} =4\\2^{n}  = 2^{2}\\ n=2

n =\frac{t}{t\frac{1}{2} }

t =t(1/2) *n

t(1/2) =1000000 years

t=1000000 *2

t=2,000,000 years

You have 750 g of water at 10°C in a large insulated beaker. How much boiling water at 100°C must you add to this beaker so that
lina2011 [118]

Answer:

Correct answer:  m₂ = 1,950 g

Explanation:

When mixing the liquid, in this case water, at different temperatures, the warmer liquid will cool and the cooler will warm up until their temperatures equalize.

The amount of heat that the second fluid (water) releases is equal to the amount of heat that the first fluid (water) receives in this spontaneous process.

Q₁ = Q₂

Q₁ = m₁ c (t - t₁)    and Q₂ = m₂ c (t₂ - t)

where are they:  m₁ = 750 g, t₁ = 10°C, t₂ = 100°C, t = 75°C, m₂ = ?

m₁ c (t - t₁)  = m₂ c (t₂ - t) \ : c

Since water is the liquid in question, it has the same specific heat capacity. Therefore, we will divide both sides of the equation by c and get:

m₁ (t - t₁)  = m₂ (t₂ - t) =>  m₂ = m₁ (t - t₁) / (t₂ - t) =>

m₂ = 750 · (75 - 10) / (100 - 75) => m₂ = 750 · 65 / 25 = 1,950 g

m₂ = 1,950 g
