1).  <u>Power = (voltage)² / (Resistance)</u>

     4,500 = (220)² / Resistance

Multiply each side by (resistance) :  4,500 x resistance = (220)²

Divide each side by  4,500 :            Resistance  =  (220)² / 4,500 = <em>10.76 ohms</em>

2).  <u>Power = (voltage) x (Current)</u>

Divide each side by (voltage):  Power / voltage = Current

                                            4,500 / 220  =  <em>20.45 Amperes</em>

3).  4,500 watts = 4.5 kilowatts

     (4.5 kilowatts) x (4 hours)  =  <em>18 kilowatt-hours</em>

The pressure of an ideal gas is 4 atm. If the only change is to increase the temperature by a factor of 4, what will be the new
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

The new pressure is 4 times of the initial pressure.

Explanation:

Given that,

The pressure of an ideal gas is 4 atm.

We need to find the change in the pressure of the gas if the temperature by a factor of 4.

We know that,

PV = nKT ....(1)

P = pressure, V = volume, T = temperature

Let P' is the new pressure of the gas. So,

P'V= nK(4T) ......(2)

Dividing equation (1) and (2) we get :

\dfrac{P}{P'}=\dfrac{T}{4T}\\\\\dfrac{P}{P'}=\dfrac{1}{4}\\\\P'=4P

It means that the new pressure is 4 times of the initial pressure.

A hippogriff is a large flying creature that Hagrid watches over at Hogwarts. If the Hippogriff’s mass is 1200 kg then what is i
Triss [41]

Answer: 11760 N

Weight = Mass × Acceleration = Mass × Gravity

Mass = 1200kg

Gravity = 9.8 m/s^2  (the negative sign denotes direction)

Weight = 1200kg × 9.8 m/s^2 = 11760 kg×m/s^2 = 11760 Newtons

Which statement best describes the electrochemical gradient for chloride ions in the figure, assuming the chloride concentration
Natasha_Volkova [10]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

It favors the movement of chloride ions from the inside to the outside of the cell.

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • Electrochemical gradient refers to a gradient of electrochemical potential, normally for ions that can move across a membrane.
  • Normally sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl−) ions are at high concentrations in the extracellular region, and low concentrations in the intracellular regions.
  • Assuming the chloride ions are equal on both sides of the membrane the electrochemical gradient for chloride ions favors the movement of chloride ions from the inside to the outside of the cell.
