Answer: 11760 N

Weight = Mass × Acceleration = Mass × Gravity

Mass = 1200kg

Gravity = 9.8 m/s^2  (the negative sign denotes direction)

Weight = 1200kg × 9.8 m/s^2 = 11760 kg×m/s^2 = 11760 Newtons

Two birds are flying south for the winter. Bird 1 reaches its destination in 6 hours, while bird 2 reaches its destination in 12
Lelechka [254]

The correct answer is option ( A) the ratio of their average speeds (bird 1/bird 2) is 1.0

velocity = distance / Time

Let us assume distance covered by Bird 1 = d

case 1 (Bird 1) :-

time = 6 hours

velocity(Bird1) = d/6 = 0.167*d

case 2 (Bird 2) :-

time = 12 hours

distance is twice of Bird 1 = 2d

velocity(Bird2) = 2d/12 = 0.167*d

now, velocity of Bird1/Bird2 =  (0.167*d)/(0.167*d) = 1.0

So,velocity of (Bird1/Bird2) is  1.0 .

Average velocity / Average speed = Total displacement / Total distance. Remember that the numerator is less than or equal to the denominator. As a result, the ratio is always equal to or less than one. Distance traveled divided by time taken is the most commonly used formula for calculating average speed. The other formula is to add the initial and final speeds together and divide by two.

A woman takes her dog Rover for a walk on a leash. She pulls on the leash with a force of 30.0 N at an angle of 29° above the ho
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

The force parallel to the horizontal is 26.24 N

Explanation:

She pulls on the leash with a force F = 30 N, this force, since its at an angle of 29° (i will cal this angle \theta), it has a force component on x (the horizontal, i will call this force F_{x}) and a force component on y (the vertical, i will call this F_{y} ).

This can be seen in the attached picture.

Since we are asked about the force parallel to the horizontal, we need to find the component of the force F_{x}, since F_{x} is the adjacent angle, we need to use cosine:

F_{x}=Fcos \theta

since F=30N and \theta=29

F_{x}=(30N)cos(29)

F_{x}=(30N)(0.8746)

F_{x}=26.24N

The force parallel to the horizontal is 26.24 N

A vertical scale on a spring balance reads from 0 to 200 \rm{N}. The scale has a length of 10.0 \rm{cm} from the 0 to 200 \rm{N}
pav-90 [236]

Answer:

m = 12.05 kg

Explanation:

Spring constant in K, N/m

K = 200/10* 100

K = 2000 N/m

Angular Frequency = sqrt (Spring constant / (Mass )

ω = 2 π f

ω =  2π* 2.05 Hz = 12.8805 rad/s

ω^2 = Spring constant / Mass

Mass= Spring constant / ω^2

ω^2 = 165.907 rad^2/s^2

m = 2000 (N/m)/165.907 (rad^2/s^2)

m = 12.05 kg
