Explanation:

Atomic number of calcium is 20 and its electronic configuration is 2, 8, 8, 2. So, to acquire stability it loses 2 valence electrons and hence forms Ca^{2+} ion.

Whereas atomic number of calcium is 17 and its electronic distribution is 2, 8, 7. To attain stability its needs to gain one electron and hence then it forms Cl^{-} ion.

Therefore, when both calcium and chlorine chemically combine together then they will form calcium chloride, that is, CaCl_{2}.

Thus, we can conclude that the chemical formula of calcium chloride is CaCl_{2}.

Ibuprofen, a well‑known, non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drug, has chirality.
Liula [17]

Answer:

A (True)

Explanation:

Because ibuprofen has a chiral carbon center (carbon bonded to 4 distinct groups of atoms).

This means that a mixture of ibuprofen can rotate plane-polarized light equally in both the clockwise and counterclockwise direction.

The amount of energy required to heat water for a 10-minute shower (50 gallons) is 2.2125 kJ. How many calories is this
Alenkinab [10]
First, we convert the given amount of energy into joules.
1 kJ = 1000 joules
2.2125 kJ = 2,212.5 Joules

Each kilocalorie contains 4,184 Joules
Kilocalories = 2,212.5 / 4,182
Kilocalories = 0.529
1 kilocalorie = 1000 calories

0.529 kilocalories = 529 calories
