Two towers face each other separated by a distance = 15 m. As seen from the top of the first tower, the angle of depression of t

Answer:

Height of second tower = 17.32m

Step-by-step explanation:

I have attached a diagram depicting the question.

From the diagram, The first tower is depicted by side AEB and the second tower CD.

While d is the distance that separates the two towers and it's given as 15m.

Now, since the angle of depression of the second tower’s base is 60°, then for triangle BAC. Angle C = 60°.

Thus; using trigonometric ratios;

tan 60° = AB/AC.

This gives; AB = d*tan 60°

Similarly, for the triangle BED, BE = d*tan 30°

Since, AE = CD, thus ;

CD = AB − BE

CD = d (tan 60° − tan 30°)

CD = 15(1.7321 − 0.5774)

CD = 15 × 1.1547

CD ≈ 17.32 m.

So, height of second tower = 17.32 m

Find the are of a parallelogram that has a base of 7 1/2 and a height of 5 2/7
Amiraneli [1.4K]
Use the formula for the area of a parallelogram:

\sf A=bh

Plug in what we know:

\sf A=(7\dfrac{1}{2})(5\dfrac{2}{7})

Convert both of them into improper fractions. We do this by multiplying the denominator to the whole number, adding it to the numerator, which becomes our new numerator, and we keep the denominator the same:

\sf A=(\dfrac{15}{2})(\dfrac{37}{7})

Now multiply the numerators and denominators together:

\sf A=\dfrac{15}{2}\cdot\dfrac{37}{7}\rightarrow\dfrac{15\cdot 37}{2\cdot 7}\rightarrow\dfrac{555}{14}

Convert it back into a mixed number. 14 goes into 555 thirty-nine times. 14 * 39 = 546. 555 - 546 = 9. So we have 39 wholes and 9 left over, or:

\sf 39\dfrac{9}{14}

So this is the area of the parallelogram.

How many solutions does the equation −2a + 2a + 7 = 8 have? One Two None Infinitely many.
jonny [76]
The answer is none. Since you have to add your a's first, your left with 0 meaning that there is no more a's meaning that you have no solution. Hope this helps!
