Which step will decrease the pressure of a gas inside a closed cubical container
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]
In order to decrease the pressure of a gas inside a closed cubical container, you need to decrease the temperature of the container. The volume of the system is rigid so it means volume is constant. By the ideal gas law, temperature and pressure are directly related. Increasing the temperature, increases the pressure and the opposite to happens.

How much faster does helium escape through a porous container than ozone?
otez555 [7]
According to Graham's Law ," the rates of effusion or diffusion of two gases are inversely proportional to the square root of their molecular masses at given pressure and temperature".

                                r₁ / r₂  =  \sqrt{M2 / M1}   ---- (1)

r₁ = Rate of effusion of He

r₂ = Rate of Effusion of O₃

M₁  =  Molecular Mass of He  =  4 g/mol

M₂  =  Molecular Mass of O₃  =  48 g/mol

Putting values in eq. 1,

                                r₁ / r₂  =  \sqrt{48 / 4}

                                r₁ / r₂  =  \sqrt{12}

                                r₁ / r₂  =  3.46

Result:
          Therefore, Helium will effuse 3.46 times more faster than Ozone.

The following pairs of aqueous solutions are separated by a semipermeable membrane. In which direction will the solvent flow?a.
raketka [301]

Answer:

osmosis is a process where by solvent or fluid molecules flow from low concentration to high concentration.

So in

A.solvent will flow from B to A because

B = 3.45 M sodium bromide is more concentrated than 3.45 M calcium iodide;

b) solvent still flow from B to A because

A = 5.00 M sucrose is less concentrated than B = 3.00 M potassium nitrate
