Kesha is in charge of dying boiled eggs with her cousins, C.J and Carvin. She read on the directions that you add 2 tablespoons

of vinegar to the jar, then add dye tablet, and stir carefully. She decided to add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to one jar, 4 tablespoons of vinegar to the second jar, and 1 tablespoon of vinegar to the third jar.

Like, the dye tablet, the size and brand of the eggs, the types of jars, how long she stirs each egg, and so on. The controlled are just variables kept constant so that any result observed is because of one singular change, the independent variable.
