They could have similar environments which require them to adapt similar characteristics

for example the dolphin and shark are not related but due to their aquatic environment they have similarly shaped tails and fins

the process or species getting more similar over time is called called convergent evolution

Answer:

Two species having similar types of characteristics can be possible and it is proved by the concept of continental drift.

The continental drift refers to the movement of the continents with respect to the poles but it was unable to explain the mechanism behind this continental motion. Later on, this continental drift was modified to a new theory that was universally accepted. This is known as the plate tectonic theory.

According to this theory, the lithospheric plates move over the less dense layer of the asthenosphere due to the generation of convection current in the mantle. It is possible due to the heat provided by the interior of the earth.

So from this theory, it is understandable that initially, a large supercontinent named Pangea existed which was comprised of various species of organisms. But later on due to the plate motion, the continents were separated from one another and the organisms also eventually got split.

These organisms over a due course of time got evolved but still found to contain similar old characteristics. This is how two species that are currently found in different continents can show similar characteristics.

What would the volume (L) of 6.6 g of CO2 be if it were measured at the same temperature and pressure as that of the experiment
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

The correct answer is 3.36 L

Explanation:

The molecular weight of CO₂ is 44 g/mol (2 O + 1 C= (2 x (16 g/mol )) + 12 g/mol). We have 44 g in 1 mol CO₂, and we want to know how many mol are in 6.6 g:

44 g -------------- 1 mol CO₂

6.6 g -------------- X= 6.6 g x 1 mol / 44 g = 0.15 mol

In normal conditions of temperature and pressure, 1 mol of ideal gas occupies 22.4 L of volume, thus:

1 mol CO₂ ------------ 22.4 L

0.15 mol -------------- X= 3.36 L

So, 6.6 g CO₂ are equivalent to 0.15 mol CO₂ and they occupy 3.36 L.
