The first step is to collect as many observations as possible about the problem you are trying to examine... if it could be proven wrong,then you have formed a hypothesis!

tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

look at the graph

Explanation:

We know that as temperature increases, solubility increases.So, when there is a rise in temperature, as more solute become dissolved, the saturation point will be lifted and more amount of solute will be needed to reach saturation.

Here, when the temperature was 20oC, 38 g of salt was needed for saturation. As the temperature is increased by 15oC, at 35oC more amount of salt was needed to reach saturation(45g). So a 15oC rise in temperature caused a 7 g rise in the amount of salt needed for saturation. So, if temperature is increased additionally through 10oC, an approximate 4.5 g of salt will be needed more to reach the saturation. That is at 45oC, the amount of salt at saturation will be approximately 49.5 g.

So, the temperature and solubility as well as temperature and amount of salt at saturation are linearly related(directly proportional)

What will be the mass of 9.95 liters of propane gas (C3H8) at STP?
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

19.5g

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Volume of propane gas = 9.95L

Unknown:

Mass of propane gas =  ?

Solution:

To solve this problem, find the number of moles first.

    At STP;

        22.4L of gas makes up 1 mole

         9.95L of gas will have a \frac{9.95}{22.4}    = 0.44mole

So;

   Mass of propane gas  = number of moles x molar mass

Molar mass of propane  = 3(12) + 8(1)  = 44g/mol

    Mass  = 0.44 x 44  = 19.5g

when you burn 2 L of propane (C3H8) at stp , you find 5.6L of carbon dioxide has been produced what is the percent yeild
Oksanka [162]

Answer:

93%

Explanation:

First write the balanced reaction

C3H8 + 5O2 --> 3CO2 +4H2O

2nd, find the theoretical yield

2L C3H8 (1mol/22.4L) (3 mol CO2/1 molC3H8) (22.4 L/ 1mol) = 6L

3rd, Find percent yield

%yield = (actual / theoretical) x100 = (5.7/6) x 100 = 93%
