It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions. Sean plots the locations of 4 places on a

coordinate grid as given below (It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions.): His house is at (−4, 5). His school is at (−4, 3). The community center is at (6, 3). The grocery store is at (−4, −9). Part A: Use absolute values to calculate the distance in units from Sean's house to his school. Show your work. (4 points) Part B: Is the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the grocery store greater than the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the community center? Justify your answer. (6 points)

Formula of finding the distance : absolute value (x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2

Distance from house to school : (Under Absolute value) (x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2

( -4 - (-4) )^2 + (10 - 3 )^2 = 0 + 49 = Radical 49 = 7

Distance from house to grocery store : (using the same method) you get = Radical 1200 = 60

Distance from house to community center : (using the same method) =

Radical 85

Yes, the distance from her house to grocery store is greater then to community center

Quadrilateral DEFG - quadrilateral KLMN. Find the given side length.
Delvig [45]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

By the diagram FG = MN.

3y + 3 = 5y - 25          Add 25 to both sides

3y + 3 + 25 = 5y         Subtract 3y from both sides

28 = 5y - 3y                Combine

28 = 2y                       Divide by 2

28/2 = 2y/2

y = 15

15 is not your answer. It is just the value of y.

3y + 3 = 3*15 + 3 = 45 + 3 = 48

Divide £2400 into the ratio 5:7
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

£1000, £1400

Step-by-step explanation:

Sum the parts of the ratio 5 + 7 = 12 parts

Divide the amount by 12 to find the value of one part of the ratio.

£2400 ÷ 12 = £200, thus

5 parts = 5 × £200 = £1000

7 parts = 7 × £200 = £1400
