It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions. Sean plots the locations of 4 places on a

coordinate grid as given below (It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions.): His house is at (−4, 5). His school is at (−4, 3). The community center is at (6, 3). The grocery store is at (−4, −9). Part A: Use absolute values to calculate the distance in units from Sean's house to his school. Show your work. (4 points) Part B: Is the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the grocery store greater than the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the community center? Formula of finding the distance : absolute value (x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2

Distance from house to school : (Under Absolute value) (x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2

( -4 - (-4) )^2 + (10 - 3 )^2 = 0 + 49 = Radical 49 = 7

Distance from house to grocery store : (using the same method) you get = Radical 1200 = 60

Distance from house to community center : (using the same method) =

Radical 85

Yes, the distance from her house to grocery store is greater then to community center

Your little cousin will have a big animal-themed birthday party and you will help with the goody bags. Each bag will have a penc
Bas_tet [7]

Using the least common factor, it is found that:

 • a) 60 packages should be bought.
 • b) There will be 5 filled goody bags.

Least Common Factor:

 • The sizes of the packages are: 10, 6, 15 and 12.
 • To fill each bag and have no left-overs, the number of packages is the least common factor of these amounts.
 • The least common factor is found factoring the numbers into prime factors.

Item a:

10 - 6 - 15 - 12|2

5 - 3 - 15 - 6|2

5 - 3 - 15 - 3|3

5 - 1 - 5 - 1|5

1 - 1 - 1 - 1

Hence, lcf(10,6,15,2) = 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 = 60.

60 packages should be bought.

Item b:

Goody bags are in packages of 12, hence:

60/12 = 5.

There will be 5 filled goody bags.
