In chemistry and physics, a valence electron is an outer shell electron that is associated with an atom, and that can participate in the formation of a chemical bond if the outer shell is not closed; in a single covalent bond, both atoms in the bond contribute one valence electron in order to form a shared pair.

If I have 4 moles of a gas at a pressure of 5.6 atm and a volume of 12 liters, what is the temperature? (205)
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

204.73K

Explanation:

the formula : PV=nRT

n=4

P=5.6 atm

V=12 L

R=0.08206 L atm mol-1 K-1

T=?

So, if you plug it in, you will get:-

T=PV/nR

T=(5.6 atm)(12 L)/(4 mol)(0.08206 L atm mol-1 K-1)

T=204.73 K

hope this is correct!

What is the concentration, in m/v percent, of a solution prepared from 50 g NaCl and 2.5 L of solution?
Serjik [45]
When we convert the given mass in grams and volume in liters to m/v percent, we recall that m/v percent is expressed as grams/100 milliliters. In this case the expression becomes (50 grams/ 2500 L)*(0.1L/100ml), that is equal to 0.002 grams/ 100 mL. Hence the the concentration is equal to 0.2 m/v percent.

Have people considered that aliens could possibly live without oxygen and water and we are looking in the wrong direction for a
bija089 [108]
I have never heard anyone ever say anything about aliens only living by using the same metabolistic processes as humans... But.. there may likely be another planet out there that does use oxygen, although at a different percentage from Earths. Anyways, even if we do find "other" life forms, who's to say that they're on the same level as us? Have you ever considered the fact that ants to us are like we are to other life forms out there and maybe they don't want or can't communicate with us because they see themselves as superior?

Hope that helps!
