Answer:

the points are closer to each other

Explanation:

The expression for the diffraction of a grating is

         d sin θ = m λ

         sin θ = m λ / d            (1)

where d is the distance between slits and m is the order of diffraction, the most general is to work in the order m = 1, the angle te is the angle of diffraction

When we immerse the apparatus in a medium with refractive index n = 1.33, the light emitted by the laser must comply

         v = λ f

where v is the speed of light in the medium, the frequency remains constant

velocity and refractive index are related

          n = c / v

          v = c / n

we substitute

          c / n = λf

          λ = \frac{c}{f}  \ \frac{1}{n}

          λ = λ₀ / m

where λ₀ is the wavelength in vacuum

we substitute is equation 1

         d sin θ = m λ₀ / n

         sin θ =  λ₀/ n d

         sin θ = \frac{1}{n}  sin θ₀

we can see that the value of the sine is redueced since the refractive index is greater than 1,

consequently the points are closer to each other

Illusion [34]

Answer:

the weight of the rider is 493.53 N

Explanation:

Given the data in the question and as illustrated in the image below,

Tension T = 1900 N

the rider is moving at a constant speed so the net force in the horizontal direction will be 0

In the horizontal direction

F_{sailcos( 30° ) = Tcos ( 17° )

F_{sail = Tcos( 17° ) / cos( 30° )

F_{sail = 1900cos( 17° ) / cos( 30° )

F_{sail = 2098.07 N

Now, In the vertical direction,

F_{sail sin( 30° ) = W + T sin( 17° )

W = F_{sail sin( 30° ) - T sin( 17° )

W = 2098.07sin( 30° ) - 1900sin( 17° )

W = 1049.035 - 555.506

W = 493.53 N

Therefore, the weight of the rider is 493.53 N

A tangential force of 1500 N exerted upon the upper surface of a cube of 20 cm edge. Calulate the shear modulus of the cube mata
I am Lyosha [343]

<u>Answer:</u>

<em>The shear modulus of the cube material is  7.5 \times 10^6  N/m^2. </em>

<u>Explanation:</u>

<em>Given that shearing force applied F = 1500 N  </em>

<em>Displacement produced x = 0.1 cm=0.001 m  </em>

<em>side of the cube =20 cm = 0.2 m </em>

Since the object is a cube the upper surface is  a square and it is on this surface the shearing

force is applied

<em>area of the upper surface A=a \times a=(20 \times 10^(^-^2^))^2=400 \times 10^(^-^4^) m</em>

<em>shear strain = tan⁡ θ = \frac {x}{h} = \frac {0.001}{0.2} =0.005   </em>

<em>shearing stress = \frac {F}{A} = \frac{1500}{0.04} = 37500 N </em>

<em>modulus of rigidity η = \frac{(shearing \ stress)}{(shearing \  strain)}</em>

<em>= \frac{37500}{0.005}=7.5 \times 10^6  N/m^2</em>

Please explain what a fossil is be descreptive
yanalaym [24]
A fossil, in my opinion, is basically looking back in time when you see it. It's the bones of remains of an animal or organism that lived long ago, preserved in the ground through Earth's natural processes and dug up by paleontologists.
Hope this helped!

Mass is sometimes described as the difficulty of acceleration of an object. How does Newton's second law agree with this descrip
Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

Increasing force tends to increase acceleration while increasing mass tends to decrease acceleration. Thus, the greater force on more massive objects is offset by the inverse influence of greater mass. Subsequently, all objects free fall at the same rate of acceleration, regardless of their mass.

If the mass increases, it's harder to accelerate
