LiCl

because Li loses 1 electron ==> Li+

and Cl gains 1 electron ==> Cl-

Li+ Cl-

we use the criss cross rule

===> LiCl

What does the aufbau principle suggest about electron configuration?
Scorpion4ik [409]

Answer:

Electrons occupy orbitals with the lowest energy first.

Explanation:

The Aufbau Principle states that electrons will fill the atomic orbitals with the lowest energy levels first, before occupying others with higher energy levels.

For example, electrons will fill the 1s orbital before filling the 2s orbital.

230 cm3 of hot tea at 96 °C are poured into a very thin paper cup with 100 g of crushed ice at 0 °C. Calculate the final tempera
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

Final temperature of the ice tea, x = 42.73°C

Explanation:

230 cm^3 = 230 g of liquid ( taking the density of tea as the same the density of water)

In cooling from 96°C to 0°

C (before freezing) the available energy is

96 × 230 = 22080 cal

The latent heat (the heat required to melt the crushed ice per gram) of fusion for water = 79.7 cal/g

Melting 100 g of crushed ice at 0°C will absorb

100 × 79.7 = 7970 cal

The retain heat of the iced Tea = (22080 - 7970) cal of heat raising the mixture temperature as follows

(22080 - 7970) = 14110 cal

The mass of the final solution 230 + 100 = 330 g solution

Final temperature = 14110 / 330 = 42.76°C

Or where specific heat of water = 4.186J/Kg°C

and the latent heat of the ice = 334J/Kg

We have

230 × (specific heat capacity of water) × (96 - x) =100× (specific heat capacity of water) ×(0-x) + (latent heat) ×100 =

230 × 4.186 × (96 - x) =100× 4.186 ×(x-0) + 100×334

1381.38×x = 59026.88

Final temperature of the ice tea, x = 42.73°C

Has a definite, fixed volume. - Has a variable shape. - Particles are constantly moving and sliding by one another.
Lelu [443]
It would be a liquid, because a liquid takes the shape of the container it's in as a gas does, but unlike a gas it does not completely fill the container.

How can teh human body looose heat? (conduction, convecion, radiation) and WHY
vitfil [10]

Answer:

Radiation and conduction

Explanation:

The human body lose heat by these two ways, because everything that touches our bodies and is in a temperature below us will receive part of our heat (conduction), and you can figure out that we lose heat by radiation because a human bright in a heat cam

Use your understanding of chemistry to propose an explanation for the anomaly in the trend for the hydrogen compounds of group 6
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]
Water has greatest boiling and melting points because strong hydrogen bonds between water molecules (intermolecular force). That is because oxygen has largest electronegativity and smallest atomic radius of all elements in group. Other elements in this group do not form hydrogen bonds and they are gasses in room temperature, water is liquid and their boiling and melting points are lower. Boiling and melting point of hydrides gradually increases from H₂S to H₂Te because of increase of the radius and molecular mass of atoms from sulfur to tellurium, that is why intermolecular force of attraction of molecules increases. <span>
