Answer:

40 gram or 0.04 kilogram

Explanation:

From the diagram attached,

The mass must be suspended at end B.

Applying the principle of moment,

Sum of clockwise moment = sum of anti-clockwise moment.

From the diagram,

Taking the moment about the pivot,

X(60-50) = 0.1(100-60)

Where X = weigth of the meter rule

10X = 4

X = 4/10

X = 0.4 N

X = 0.4/10

X = 0.04 kg

X = 40 g

Hence the mass of the meter rule = 0.04 kg or 40 gram

Does light travel faster through water or glass?
Len [333]

Answer: The refractive index or n shows the relationship between c and the speed v when light travels through a material. The equation is n=c/v. In water, the refractive index is 1.3 and in glass, it is 1.5. Therefore, light travels faster through water, than it travels through glass.

A 0.614mole sample of ideal gas at 12degree occupies a volume of 4.32.what is the pressure of the gas
Kaylis [27]

Answer:

336.9520 atm

Explanation:

The Gas Equation is as follows;-

Pressure×Volume=Number of Moles × Universal Gas Constant ×Temperature(in Kelvin)

Given Parameters

Number of moles-0.614 mol

Temperature 12°C or 12+273.15 ie 285.15°F

Volume-4.32 L

Universal Gas Constant-8.314 J/mol·K

Pressure -?(in atm)

Plugging in all the values in the Gas Equation:-

Pressure=\frac{0.614 × 8.314× 285.15}{4.32}   atm

Pressure=336.9520 atm

What is the length of an aluminum rod at 65°C if its length at 15°C is 1.2 meters? A. 0.00180 meter B. 1.201386 meters C. 1.2
Deffense [45]

Answer:

Option B is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Thermal expansion

            \Delta L=L\alpha \Delta T

L = 1.2 meter

ΔT = 65 - 15 = 50°C

Thermal Expansion Coefficient for aluminum, α = 24 x 10⁻⁶/°C

We have change in length

          \Delta L=L\alpha \Delta T=1.2\times 24\times 10^{-6}\times 50=1.44\times 10^{-3}m

New length = 1.2 + 1.44 x 10⁻³ = 1.2014 m

Option B is the correct answer.

An object is moving along the x axis. At t = 5.6 s, the object is at x = +3.0 m and has a velocity of +5.7 m/s. At t = 8.5 s, it
Debora [2.8K]

The average acceleration between t = 5.6 s and t = 8.5 s is 2.31  m/s²

What is acceleration?

Acceleration is defined as the rate change of velocity with time.

acceleration a = (Δv) / (Δt)

An object is moving with initial velocity u =5.7 m/s and its final velocity v= -1.0 m/s.

Time taken for the change in speed, t= 8.5 - 5.6 = 2.9 seconds

The acceleration is given by

a = (-1 - 5.7)/ 2.9

a = -  2.31 m/s²

|a | = 2.31 m/s²

Thus, the object's acceleration is 2.31 m/s²

A 3.1-kilogram gun initially at rest is free to
34kurt
The conservation of momentum states that the total momentum in a system is constant if there is no external force acting on the system. The total momentum in the gun bullet system is 0 so it must stay that way.

The momentum of the bullet is mv = 0.015*500=7.5
The momentum of the gun must be the same to keep the total momentum of the system equal to zero, so we know that p = 7.5 for the gun.
Substituting this in we get:

7.5=3.1x
x=7.5/3.1
x=2.42

So the speed of the gun is 2.4m/s.
