Answer:

(d) 2840 A

Explanation:

Threshold frequency can be be calculated using expresion below

(λ)= hc/ Φ

(λ) sodium/ (λ)tungsten = Φtungsten/ Φsodium

But (λ) sodium is given as 5460 A,

Φsodium = 2.3 eV

Φtungsten= 4.4 eV

If we substitute the values we can find

(λ)tungsten.

(λ)tungsten= [(λ) sodium × Φsodium]/ Φtungsten

=( 5460× 2.3)/4.4

= 2854A

Hence, threshold wavelength of tungsten is 2854A

"If you double the wavelength of a wave on a particular string", what happens to the wave speed v and the frequency f ? (i) v do
nadezda [96]

Answer:

v doubles and f is unchanged

Explanation:

According to the formula v = f¶

Where v is the velocity of the wave

f is the frequency

¶ is the wavelength

Velocity is directly proportional to wavelength. Direct proportionality shows that increase in velocity will cause an increase in the wavelength and decrease in velocity will also cause a decrease in wavelength with the frequency not changing since the velocity and wavelength are both increasing and decreasing at the same rate.

According to the question, if the wavelength is doubled, the velocity (v) will also double while the frequency (f) remains unchanged.

The graph shows the range of frequencies commonly heard by some animals.
Vsevolod [243]

Concept:

Frequency- It is defined as the number of oscillations occur in one second.

Its SI unit is Hertz (Hz)

Given: Produced sound vibrations is 18,500 cycles in 0.75 seconds

∵ In 0.75 second, produced sound has oscillations = 18,500 cycles

∴ In 1.0 second, produced sound has oscillations = (18,500 ÷ 0.75) Hz

The frequency of the sound will be ≈ 24,667 Hz

From the study of the given graph, only the animals (c) Cats, (b) Moths and (a) Bats can hear the produced sound because their upper audible frequency range is greater than 24,667 Hz.

What is the displacement of the runner in 4 laps? *<br> 2 point
Serhud [2]

Answer:

There is no displacement.

Explanation:

Because the runner is running laps and returning to the original place, there is no displacement as displacement is relative to the change in location from the original position.

Hope this helps. . .
