Answer:

14

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Number of protons  = 6

Number of electrons  = 6

Number of neutrons = 8

Unknown:

Mass number  = ?

Solution:

The mass number of an atom is the sum of protons and neutrons in an atom;

Mass number  = number of protons + number of neutrons

 Mass number  = 6 + 8  = 14

Which graphic below shows the correct orientation of each water molecule when it is near the cl- ion in the aqueous solution?
andrew-mc [135]
The question is missing the graphics required to answer which I have attached as an image.

There are four different representations of the orientation of water molecules around chloride anion. Let's first analyze the water molecule.

We have H-O-H as the structure of water. The oxygen atom is more electronegative than the hydrogen atoms, which results in a partial positive charge on the hydrogen atoms and a partial negative charge on the oxygen atom.

The chloride anion is a negative charge. Therefore, the water molecules should orient themselves with the hydrogen atoms facing the chlorine atom as the partial positive charge on the hydrogen atoms will be attracted to the negative charge of the chlorine atom.

The correct representation is shown in graph 3 which shows all hydrogen atoms facing the chlorine anion.

Which type of society survives mainly by foraging for food?
Dennis_Churaev [7]
The appropriate answer is a. HUNTER-GATHERER. Hunter-gatherer societies are nomadic and they forage for edible plants, bean, fruits and nuts. They also hunt wild game for food. Early humans in the Neolithic period practiced this way of life.
Agrarian societies thrive on agriculture which they depend on for sustainable and for trade. Animals and plants are domesticated and so people can settle and build a society. Pastoral agriculture is a semi-nomadic lifestyle where the society is centered around keeping herds of grazing animals. Industrial societies focus on manufacturing and this is the backbone of the society.

Vanadium (II) oxide with Iron (III) oxide results in Vanadium (V) oxide and Iron (II) oxide. Balance this equation
evablogger [386]

Answer:

2VO + 3Fe2O3 —> V2O5 + 6FeO

Explanation:

The skeletal equation for the reaction is given below below:

VO + Fe2O3 —> V2O5 + FeO

We can balance the equation above by doing the following:

There are 2 atoms of V on the right side and 1 atom on the left side. It can be balance by putting 2 in front of VO as shown below:

2VO + Fe2O3 —> V2O5 + FeO

Now, we have a total of 5 atoms of O on the left and 6 atoms on the right side. We can balance it by putting 3 in front of Fe2O3 and 6 in front of FeO as shown below:

2VO + 3Fe2O3 —> V2O5 + 6FeO

Now, we can see that the equation is balanced

What were the constraints on Nils Bohlin’s solution to safer seatbelts?
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

He realized he needs to have the upper body and lower body held in place and needed the buckle as far down beside the person's hip so it could hold the body properly

Explanation: ''I realized both the upper and lower body must be held securely in place with one strap across the chest and one across the hips,'' Mr. Bohlin once said. ''The belt also needed an immovable anchorage point for the buckle as far down beside the occupant's hip, so it could hold the body properly during a collision.
