a 2000kg car initially traveling at a speed of 15 m/s is accelerated by a constant force of 10000 n for 3 seconds. the new speed
Juliette [100K]
  • Mass of the car (m) = 2000 Kg
  • Initial velocity (u) = 15 m/s
  • Force (F) = 10000 N
  • Time (t) = 3 s
  • Let the acceleration be a.
  • By using the formula, F = ma, we get,
  • 10000 N = 2000 Kg × a
  • or, a = 10000 N ÷ 2000 Kg
  • or, a = 5 m/s^2
  • Let the final velocity be v.
  • By using the formula, v = u + at, we get,
  • v = 15 m/s + 5 m/s^2 × 3 s
  • or, v = 15 m/s + 15 m/s
  • or, v = 30 m/s

Determine the angular velocity of the merry-go-round if a jumps off horizontally in the −n direction with a speed of 2 m/s , mea
lapo4ka [179]

by angular momentum conservation we will have

angular momentum of child + angular momentum of merry go round = 0

angular momentum of child = mvR

m = mass of child

R = radius of child

v = speed = 2 m/s

now let's say moment of inertia of merry go round is I

so we will have

m*2*R + Iw = 0

w = -\frac{2mR}{I}

so merry go round will turn in opposite direction with above speed

The boy on the tower throws a ball 20m downrange. What is his pitching speed?
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

The pitching speed of the ball is 19.7 m/s

Explanation:

  • Here, we can use the third equation of motion,  v^{2} = u^{2} - 2as
  • whereas v represents the final velocity, u represents initial velocity, a is the acceleration due to gravity and s is the displacement or distance an object traveled
  • Here, the initial velocity of the the ball is given as  zero and the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8  , the distance 's' is given as 20 m
  • Using the equation,  v^{2} = 2 * 9.8 * 20 = 392\\v = \sqrt{392} = 19.7m/s
  • Hence, the pitching speed of the ball is 19.7 m/s

A plane wave with a wavelength of 500 nm is incident normally ona single slit with a width of 5.0 × 10–6 m.Consider waves that r
kaheart [24]

To solve this exercise it is necessary to use the concepts related to Difference in Phase.

The Difference in phase is given by

\Phi = \frac{2\pi \delta}{\lambda}

Where

\delta = Horizontal distance between two points

\lambda = Wavelength

From our values we have,

\lambda = 500nm = 5*10^{-6}m

\theta = 1\°

The horizontal distance between this two points would be given for

\delta = dsin\theta

Therefore using the equation we have

\Phi = \frac{2\pi \delta}{\lambda}

\Phi = \frac{2\pi(dsin\theta)}{\lambda}

\Phi = \frac{2\pi(5*!0^{-6}sin(1))}{500*10^{-9}}

\Phi= 1.096 rad \approx = 1.1 rad

Therefore the correct answer is C.

At a particular instant, a hot air balloon is 100 m in the air and descending at a constant speed of 2.0 m/s. at this exact inst
rewona [7]

Answer:

86.4 m  horizontal from landing spot

Explanation:

Find out how long before the ball hits the ground

 vertical speed  of ball = -2  m/s     gravity = - 9.81 m/s^2

find time to hit ground from 100 m

          ( height will be<u> zero</u> when it hits the ground)

<u>0 </u>=  100  - 2 t  - 1/2 ( 9.81) t^2

        use Quadratic Formula to find t = 4.32 seconds

              horizontal speed of ball = 20 m/s

in 4.32 seconds it will travel horizontally   20  m/s * 4.32 s = 86.4 m
