the temperature of a cup of coffee obeys newton's law of cooling. The initial temperature of the coffee is 150F and 1 minute lat

er it is 135F. The temperature of the room is 70F. If T(t) represents the temperature of the coffee at time T the correct differential equation for the temperature for this condition is

Answer:

Newton's law of cooling says that:

T(t) = Tₐ + (T₀ - Tₐ)*e^(k*t)

or:

\frac{dT}{dt} = -k*(T - T_a)

in the differential form.

where:

T is the temperature as a function of time

Tₐ  is the ambient temperature, in this case, 70F

T₀ is the initial temperature of the object, in this case, 150F

k is a constant, and we want to find the value of k.

Then our equation is:

T = 70F + (150F - 70F)*e^(k*t)

Now we also know that after a minute, or 60 seconds, the temperature was 135F

then:

135F = 70F + (150F - 70F)*e^(k*60s)

We can solve this for k:

135F = 70F + 80F*e^(k*60s)

135F - 70F = 80F*e^(k*60s)

65F =  80F*e^(k*60s)

(65/80) = e^(k*60s)

Now we can apply the Ln(x) function to both sides to get:

Ln(65/80) = Ln(e^(k*60s))

Ln(65/80) = k*60s

Ln(65/80)/60s = k = -0.0035 s^-1

Then the differential equation is:

\frac{dT}{dt} = -0.0035 s^-1*(T - 70F)

Answer:

x = 15

LM = 18

MN = 18

LN = 18

Step-by-step explanation:

To find x:

x + 3 + 2x - 12 + 33 - x = 54

2x + 24 = 54

2x = 54 - 24

2x = 30

x = 15

LM:

x + 3

15 + 3

18

MN:

33 - x

33 - 15

18

LN:

2x - 12

2(15) - 12

30 - 12

18

Graph the function f(x) = − x4 + 7x3 − 9x2 − 3x + 10 using graphing technology and identify for which values of x the graph is d
jolli1 [7]

In the attached diagram you can see the graph of the function f(x) = -x^4 + 7x^3 - 9x^2 - 3x + 10.

As you can see graph is:

1. increasing from x = −2 to x = −1

2. decreasing from x = 0 to x = 1

3. decreasing and then increasing from x=1 to x=2

4. increasing from x=2 to x=4.

For
(c+d)(ex+f)
the expanded form is
dex^2+dex+cfx+df
(ce)x^2+(de+cf)x+(df)
ax^2+bx+c
the value of a is ce
the value of b is de+cf
the value of c is df

so

(-2x+3)(x+8)
(-2x+3)(1x+8)
b is 3*1+-2*8=3-16=-13

answer is -13
so pick 13 because we have -B, so B=13
