True. Being an electrical engineer, you learn very quickly that current will take All paths of resistance. But, the higher the resistance the lower the voltage. So, if a high resistance is shorted and the current flows through the short, there will be some small voltage across it, so some small amount of current will still flow through the high resistance.

Which of the following is NOT a level of home monitoring?
Bingel [31]

Answer:

d. electronic monitoring

Explanation:

Home monitoring in its simplest term is the act of restricting the movement of an entity, object or an individual to a specified location, usually their homes.

In criminology, there are various levels of home monitoring. Some of them are;

i. Curfew: This type of home monitoring requires that the persons being monitored be indoors/at home at specified hours.

ii. Home incarceration: This level of home monitoring requires that the persons being monitored be indoors/at home at all times except in times of medical urgencies.

iii. Home detention: This seems to be one of the less strict forms of home monitoring. It requires that the persons being monitored be indoors/at home at all times except when necessary. For example, they could go to school, their workplace, to the market and so on.

Electronic monitoring is not a form of home monitoring as it allows the person being monitored to move freely. They might just contacted via telephone or any other means, at intervals to know their whereabouts.

An astronaut has a mass of 50.0 kg on earth. what is her mass on the moon, where gravity is 1 6 that on earth?
never [62]

I believe the correct gravity on the moon is 1/6 of Earth. Take note there is a difference between 1 6 and 1/6.

HOWEVER, we should realize that the trick here is that the question asks about the MASS of the astronaut and not his weight. Mass is an inherent property of an object, it is unaffected by external factors such as gravity. What will change as the astronaut moves from Earth to the moon is his weight, which has the formula: weight = mass times gravity.

Therefore if he has a mass of 50 kg on Earth, then he will also have a mass of 50 kg on moon.

Suppose you are asked to find the amount of time t, in seconds, it takes for the turntable to reach its final rotational speed.
Annette [7]

Answer:

option (D)

Explanation:

Here initial rotation speed is given, final rotation speed is given and asking for time.

If we use

A) θ=θ0+ω0t+(1/2)αt2

For this equation, we don't have any information about the value of angular displacement and angular acceleration, so it is not useful.

B) ω=ω0+αt

For this equation, we don't have any information about angular acceleration, so it is not useful.

C) ω2=ω02+2α(θ−θ0)

In this equation, time is not included, so it is not useful.

D) So, more information is needed.

Thus, option (D) is true.
