How does kinetic energy affect the stopping distance of a vehicle traveling at 30 mph compared to the same vehicle traveling at
Maru [420]
Well you of course have different kinetic energies with the two speeds.
Kinetic energy = (1/2)*mass*velocity^2
The vehicle's mass is the same in both cases, so we can ignore that as well as 1/2 since it's a constant.
So we have (30)^2 vs (60^2)
which is 900 vs 3600
So having 60 mph compared to 30 mph is 4 times the kinetic energy.

The same fluid flows through four different branching pipes. It enters each pipe from the left with the same speed, v0, and flow
Anvisha [2.4K]

Answer:

The correct option is A.

Explanation:

Following the equation of continuum, AV remains constant.

Case a

(3A)(V0) = AV1 + AV1 + AV1

3AV0 = 3AV1

V1 = V0

Case b

(A)(V0) = (A/3)V2 + (A/3)V2 + (A/3)V2 + (A/3)V2

AV0 = 4V2/3

V2 = 3/4V0

Case c

(A/2)(V0) = AV3 + AV3 + AV3

AV0/2 = 3AV3

V3 = V0/6

Case d

(3A)(V0) = 2AV4 + 2AV4

3AV0 = 4AV4

V4 = 3V0/4

Comparing all the flow speeds, V1 is the largest.

Thus, the correct option is A.

(b) If the object is at 330 feet and its instantaneous velocity is 3 feet per minute at 30 minutes, what is the approximate posi
ELEN [110]

Answer:

The final position is 36 feet.

Explanation:

initial position, d = 330 feet

speed, v = 3 feet per minute

time, t = 30 minute

now the time is 32 minute

time interval = 2 minute

So, the distance in 2 minutes is

d' = 2 x 3 = 6 feet

So, the final position is

D = 30 + 6 = 36 feet

A charge of −25µC is distributed uniformly over the surface of a spherical conductor of radius 12.0 cm. Determine the electric f
Bond [772]

Answer:

a) 0 b) 0 c) -9*10⁵ N/C

Explanation:

a)

  • In electrostatic conditions, no electric field can exist inside a conductor.
  • As the distance r=5 cm falls inside the conductor, the electric field is just zero.

b)

  • Same as above, as r=10 cm is still inside the spherical conductor.

c)

  • At r= 50 cm. from the center of the spherical conductor, we can apply Gauss' Law in order to get the value of the electric field.
  • By symmetry, the electric field, at a same distance from the center, must be radial, and constant on a spherical surface concentric with the spherical conductor.
  • So, we can write the following equation for Gauss'Law:

       \int\ {E} \, dA = \frac{Q}{\epsilon_{0} }

  • If E is constant, we can take it out of the integral, and integrate all the closed spherical surface, as follows:

       E* 4*\pi *r^{2}  =\frac{Q}{\epsilon_{0}}

  • So, we can solve for E, as follows:

       E = \frac{Q}{4*\pi*r^{2}*\epsilon_{0}} =  \frac{(-25e-6)C}{4*\pi*(0.5m)^{2}*8.85e-12C2/N*m2}}\\\\   E = -9e5 N/C

  • E = -9*10⁵ N/C (radially inward, taking the outward direction as positive)

How much pressure is applied to the
den301095 [7]

Answer:

306.12N/m^2

Explanation:

Mass = 30 kg

g = 9.8m/s2

F = mg

F = 30 x 9.8

F = 294N

L = 0.98m

Since the stilts is square, then the area is L^2

A = L^2

A = 0.98^2

A = 0.9604m^2

P =?

P = F/A

P = 294/0.9604

P = 306.12N/m^2

The pressure exerted by the man is 306.12N/m^2
