a ultrasonic wave at 8x10^4 Hz is emitted into a vien where the speed of sound in blood is 1570 m/s. the wave reflects off the r
Aneli [31]

Answer: 0.392 m/s

Explanation:

The Doppler shift equation is:

f'=\frac{V+V_{o}}{V-V_{s}} f

Where:

f=8(10)^{4} Hz is the actual frequency of the sound wave

f'=8.002(10)^{4} Hz is the "observed" frequency

V=1570 m/s is the speed of sound

V_{o}=0 m/s is the velocity of the observer, which is stationary

V_{s} is the velocity of the source, which are the red blood cells

Isolating V_{s}:

V_{s}=\frac{V(f'-f)}{f'}

V_{s}=\frac{1570 m/s(8.002(10)^{4} Hz-8(10)^{4} Hz)}{8.002(10)^{4} Hz}

Finally:

V_{s}=0.392 m/s

What is the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke?
balu736 [363]
I believe the answer is D, Heat exhaustion involves a lack of sweating, while heat stroke involves extreme sweating. Also just to add the on if heat exhaustion is left untreated then it could turn into a heat stroke.

An object is thrown directly up (positive direction) with a velocity (vo) of 20.0 m/s and do= 0. How high does it rise (v = 0 cm
stepan [7]

The object rises to a height of 20.4 m. So option C is correct.

Explanation:

initial velocity= Vi=20 m/s

final velocity at the top= Vf=0

acceleration= g=-9.8 m/s²

Vf²=Vi²+2gh

0= (20)²+2 (-9.8)h

-200=-9.8h

h=200/9.8

h=20.4 m

Thus the object rises to a height of 20.4 m
