Flooding usually happens when large volumes of rainfall occur in relatively short time periods. Dependent on soil variants, water content, nearby trees growth and density, these are usually enough to cause rivers to overflow their banks and also occur when storms force large volumes of water from the ocean to travel inland. Typically these occur in arid ecosystems, having low average rainfall- the water accumulates in dry regions and saturates the area. Flash floods, in particular, are characterised by their relatively short duration; they typically happen within minutes or hours of due to extra rainfall, broken dams or levees during slow-moving thunderstorms or hurricanes -storms generally include heavy rainfall, lightning and strong winds. Thesephenomena are majorly destructive and can uproot trees, destroy bridges, buildings and other infrastructure while leading to loss of life.
The part of the brain which makes us choose one college over the other due to a strong feeling of wanting for one particular college would be our emotional part of the brain at work - d. We don't have any real rational arguments but we just know and feel we want to do it.
