It takes 281.7 kJ of energy to remove 1 mole of electrons from the atoms on the surface of lithium metal. If lithium metal is ir
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

The maximum kinetic energy of electron is = 2.93 × 10^{-19} Joule

Explanation:

We know that total energy

E = \frac{hc}{\lambda}  ------------ (1)

Here h = plank's constant = 6.62 × 10^{-34} J s

c = speed of light = 3 × 10^{8} \frac{m}{s}

\lambda = 261 nm = 261  × 10^{-9} m

Put all these values in equation (1) we get

E = 7.6   × 10^{-19} J

We know that

Total energy = Energy to remove an electron + K.E of electron

Energy to remove an electron = \frac{281.7 (1000)}{(6.023)10^{23} }

Energy to remove an electron = 4.67  × 10^{-19} J

K.E of electron = Total energy - Energy to remove an electron

K.E of electron = 7.6   × 10^{-19} -  4.67  × 10^{-19}

K.E of electron = 2.93 × 10^{-19} Joule

Therefore the maximum kinetic energy of electron is = 2.93 × 10^{-19} Joule

Sam follows the directions on a box of pancake mix. The box says that it makes 10 pancakes, but he is able to make 8 pancakes fr
Mice21 [21]

Given that the pancake mix can be used for the preparation of 10 pancakes. The other ingredients added to the pancake mix would be eggs, cheese, milk, salt and baking soda. If all of thee ingredients are added to the pan cake mix in required proportions, we can make 10 pan cakes. So, the theoretical yield will be 10 pancakes. But in real Sam was able to prepare only 8 pancakes. That means the number of pancakes produced was limited by the amount of other ingredients. So, the actual yield will be 8 pancakes.

Hence the correct answer B) Theoretical yield

Consider the reaction NOBr(g) => NO(g) + 1/2 Br2(g). A plot of 1/[NOBr] vs time give a straight line with a slope of 2.00 M-1
timama [110]

Answer:

Thus, the order of the reaction is 2.

The rate constant of the graph which is :- 2.00 M⁻¹s⁻¹

Explanation:

The kinetics of a reaction can be known graphically by plotting the concentration vs time experimental data on a sheet of graph.

The concentration vs time graph of zero order reactions is linear with negative slope.

The concentration vs time graph for a first order reactions is a exponential curve.  For first order kinetics the graph between the natural logarithm of the concentration vs time comes out to be a straight graph with negative slope.

The concentration vs time graph for a second order reaction is a hyberbolic curve. Also, for second order kinetics the graph between the reciprocal of the concentration vs time comes out to be a straight graph with positive slope.

Considering the question,

A plot of 1/[NOBr] vs time give a straight line with a slope of 2.00 M⁻¹s⁻¹.

<u>Thus, the order of the reaction is 2.</u>

<u>Also, slope is the rate constant of the graph which is :- 2.00 M⁻¹s⁻¹</u>
