8 multiplied by 7-$56(this is the amount she got in one day of work)
56 multiplied by 5-(This amounts to the total she is paid) equals-$280

Get the amount of money in a day, (8)(7)=$56 per day
5 days per week, 56(5)=280
To conclude, she gets $280 in a week.

600 J of work is done on a system in a process that decreases the thermal energy of the system by 300 J.
Daniel [21]

Answer:

900 J

Explanation:

\Delta U = Change in entropy = -300 J (Decrease)

W = Work done = 600 J

Q = Heat transferred

Change in internal energy is given by

\Delta U=W+Q\\\Rightarrow Q=\Delta U-W\\\Rightarrow Q=-300-600\\\Rightarrow Q=-900\ J

The heat transferred to or from the system as heat is -900 J.

900 J is transferred. As heat is transferred from the system the sign is negative.

An electron moving in the direction of the +x-axis enters a magnetic field. If the electron experiences a magnetic deflection in
algol13

Answer:

- z axis

Explanation:

The magnetic force is perpendicular to its speed and the direction of the magnetic field, its equation being

      F = q v x B

Where the bold indicates vectors, q  is a positive charge,

The way to use this equation is with the rule of the right hand, the thumb points in the direction of the velocity, the other fingers extended in the direction of the magnetic field and the palm is the direction of the force for a positive charge.

Let's apply this to our case the speed is on the x axis and the force in ex. negative Y axis, the other fingers point perpendicular to the sheet, but since the charge is negative the magnetic field enters the sheet, this would be the negative z axis

Well, the figure seems to report that velocity is measured in m/s²... That label should say m/s. (Unless of course this is the graph of acceleration over time, but then the answer would probably be more complicated than the given choices.)

If the graph indeed shows velocity, and the unit is just a typo, then the displacement from A to D is equal to the area under the curve.

From A to B, the area is of a triangle with height 4 m/s and base 1 s, hence the area is 1/2 • (4 m/s) • (1 s) = 2 m.

From B to C, it's a rectangle with length 3 s and height 4 m/s, hence with area (3 s) • (4 m/s) = 12 m.

From C to D, it's a trapezoid with "height" 2 s and bases 4 m/s and 2 m/s, hence with area 1/2 • (4 m/s + 2 m/s) • (2 s) = 6 m.

The total displacement is then 2 m + 12 m + 6m = 20 m.

Write the mathemetical relation between work force and displacement
il63 [147K]

Answer:

Work is measured as the product of force and the displacement in the direction of the force. Work = force × displacement in the direction of the force.
