Answer:

Option E:

The mantle

Explanation:

The earth's mantle is the mushy, semi-solid portion of the earth that makes up most of the earth's volume. The mantle extends for a depth of about 2800km downwards into the earth, making it the largest internal portion of the earth.  It makes up about 84 percent of the earth's structure, leaving the core and the crust with 15 percent and 1 percent respectively.

Due its nature, convection currents are set up predominantly in the mantle of the earth, which leads to movements in the upper layers of the earth (the crust).

The mantle is large enough for the lighter crust to float on its surface.

A missile is moving 1810 m/s at a 20.0 degree angle. It needs to hit a target 19,500 m away in a 32 degree direction in 9.20 sec
NemiM [27]

Answer:

79.1°

Explanation:

Given:

x₀ = 0 m

y₀ = 0 m

x = 19500 cos 32°

y = 19500 sin 32°

v₀x = 1810 cos 20°

v₀y = 1810 sin 20°

t = 9.20

Find:

ax, ay, θ

First, in the x direction:

x = x₀ + v₀ t + ½ at²

19500 cos 32° = 0 + (1810 cos 20°) (9.20) + ½ ax (9.20)²

16537 = 15648 + 42.32 ax

ax ≈ 21.01

And in the y direction:

y = y₀ + v₀ t + ½ at²

19500 sin 32° = 0 + (1810 sin 20°) (9.20) + ½ ay (9.20)²

10333 = 5695 + 42.32 ay

ay ≈ 109.6

The direction of the acceleration is therefore:

θ = atan(ay / ax)

θ = atan(109.6 / 21.01)

θ ≈ 79.1°

A 7.26kg bowling ball (16 pounds) is at rest what is the net force on the bowling ball
cestrela7 [59]
Well since the bowling ball is at rest and is not moving at all, and assuming that the ball is on an even surface, the Fg is equal to the FN = normal force, and thus all forces are balanced, the Fnet = 0.

A race car moves along a circular track at a speed of 0.512 m/s. If the car's centripetal acceleration is 15.4 m/s2, what is the
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

The radius is  r = 0.0170 \ m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

      The speed at which the race car moves is v = 0.512 \ m/s

       The centripetal acceleration is  a _r  =  15.4 \ m/s

Generally the centripetal acceleration is mathematically represented as

           a_r =  \frac{v^2 }{r}

=>        15.4  =  \frac{0.512^2 }{ r}

=>       r = 0.0170 \ m
