There are four main stages in the water cycle. They are evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. Let's look at each of these stages. Evaporation: This is when warmth from the sun causes water from oceans, lakes, streams, ice and soils to rise into the air and turn into water vapour (gas

Why is it important to cover the developing chamber
Tom [10]

Answer:A- It is important to keep the developing chamber covered with plastic wrap during the development of the chromatogram so the solvent vapor can saturate the air in the chamber, the solvent does not evaporate and the chromatogram develops properly and shows the correct cations present.

What is the main process that happens in the mantle?
natali 33 [55]

Answer:

Mantle convection is the very slow creeping motion of Earth's solid silicate mantle caused by convection currents carrying heat from the interior to the planet's surface. The Earth's surface lithosphere rides atop the asthenosphere and the two form the components of the upper mantle.

What volume of hydrogen gas is required to react with 113 liters of ethylene (C2H4) according to the following reaction? (All ga
AysviL [449]

Answer: The volume of hydrogen gas required for the given amount of ethylene gas is 113 L

Explanation:

At STP:

1 mole of a gas occupies 22.4 L of volume

We are given:

Volume of ethylene = 113 L

For the given chemical equation:

H_2(g)+C_2H_4(g)\rightarrow C_2H_6(g)

By Stoichiometry of the reaction:

(1\times 22.4)L of ethylene reacts with (1\times 22.4)L of hydrogen gas

So, 113 L of ethylene gas will react with = \frac{(1\times 22.4)}{(1\times 22.4)}\times 113=113L of hydrogen gas

Hence, the volume of hydrogen gas required for the given amount of ethylene gas is 113 L

Compare the type of change that occurs when a substance melts and when a substance is set on fire. Use complete sentences to jus
Amiraneli [1.4K]

When a substance melts it has changed from a solid to a liquid state while when a substance is set on fire is changes from liquid to gaseous state as it boils.

What is change of state?

Change of state of matter is the transformation of a substance from one phase of matter to another.

When a substance melts it has changed from a solid to a liquid state while when a substance is set on fire is changes from liquid to gaseous state as it boils.

Is condensation an exothermic or endothermic process? Based on Le Cha^telier’s principle, would you predict the vapor pressure o
Irina18 [472]

Explanation:

A process in which water vapor changes into liquid state is known as condensation. As we know that when energy is released in a reaction then it is known as exothermic reaction and when energy is absorbed in a reaction then it is known as endothermic reaction.

As vapors have high energy so, when they change into liquid state then heat energy is released by them. Therefore, condensation is an exothermic reaction.

As per Le Chatelier's principle, any disturbance caused in an equilibrium reaction will tend to shift the equilibrium in a direction away from the disturbance.

So, when there will occur a decrease in temperature then molecules of a gas will come closer to each other. Hence, there will also occur a decrease in vapor pressure of the gas.
