Solve the quadratic equation 2x^2+13x=15 by method of completing the square<br>
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

x = 1, -7.5

Explanation:

2x² + 13x = 15

Divide the left side of the equation by 2

2(x² + 6.5x) = 15

Divide 6.5 by 2 and square the quotient

6.5/2 = 3.25

3.25² = 10.5625

Add 10.5625 to the left side

2(x² + 6.5x + 10.5625) = 15

Since you have a 2 outside the parentheses, you will be adding 10.5625•2 to the right side.

10.5625 • 2 = 21.125

2(x² + 6.5x + 10.5625) = 36.125

To factor (x² + 6.5x + 10.5625), add b/2 to x

b/2 = 6.5/2 = 3.25

2(x + 3.25)² = 36.125

Divide by 2

(x + 3.25)² = 18.0625

Square root.

(x + 3.25) = √18.0625

x + 3.25 = ±4.25

Subtract 3.25.

x = 4.25 - 3.25 = 1

x = -4.25 - 3.25 = -7.5

x = 1, -7.5

Mercury is a liquid meteal but it is not hard? how can we say it is a metal
NNADVOKAT [17]
What's the problem ? Hardness is not the definition of a metal. You need to expand your thinking. EVERY element is solid, liquid, and gas, over different ranges of temperature ... including all of the metals. There are only TWO elements that are liquid AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, and mercury is one of them. But on a mild day at the south pole, mercury is solid too.

A sky rocket is launched with a force of 10 N and accelerates at 20 m/s squared what is the mass of this skyrocket
tia_tia [17]

Answer: 0.5 kg

Explanation:

Force of launched skyrocket = 10 N

Acceleration of skyrocket = 20 m/s squared (i.e 20m/s^2)

Mass of the skyrocket = ?

Recall that Force is the product of the mass of an object by the acceleration by which it moves.

i.e Force = Mass x Acceleration

10N = Mass x 20m/s^2

Mass = (10N/20m/s^2)

Mass = 0.5 kg

Thus, the mass of this skyrocket is 0.5 kilograms
