During the Moment of Inertia experiment, a group of students decided to mount a solid sphere on the top of the horizontal disk.

The sphere and disk have the same mass, M, and radius, R. They recorded the values for the initial and final positions for the falling mass, and the height above the floor when falling mass is at its lowest position. These values are respectively 90cm, 68.5 cm, and 23.5cm. The radius of the pulley, r, was 1/10 of the radius of the sphere. Furthermore, the mass of the disk, M, was 1.4kg, what was the mass, m, for the falling mass

Using the vocabulary words we have learned so far in this unit, describe what happens when something warms up.
Sidana [21]
When heat is added to a substance, the molecules and atoms vibrate faster. As atoms vibrate faster, the space between atoms increase. The motion and spacing of the particles determines the state of matter of the substance. The end result of increased molecular motion is that the object expands and takes up more space.

Which picture best demonstrates the phenomenon of diffraction?
timama [110]

Answer:

The image to the left (with the disks on it)

Explanation:

Interference in any type of wave can be gotten in two forms, constructive interference, and destructive interference.

The constructive interference is between two waves with the same phase, that is, each crest and trough correspond with the crest and trough of the another getting as result a wave with twice the amplitude of the original one.

The destructive interference is between two waves out of phase, in which the crest of one cancels with the trough of another.

If light passes for a slit it will get a diffraction pattern in a screen, at which each bright pattern corresponds to a crest and a dark pattern to a trough, as a consequence of constructive interference and destructive interference in different points of its propagation to the screen.

The circular shape of the disks can be a representation of the wavefront and how the overlaps make constructive and destructive interference in order to get the diffraction pattern.

The per-unit impedance of a single-phase electric load is 0.3. The base power is 500 kVA, and the base voltage is 13.8 kV. a. Fi
Leto [7]

Answer:

114.26

Explanation:

a)Formula for per unit impedance for change of base is

Zpu2= Zpu1×(kV1/kV2)²×(kVA2/kVA1)

Zpu2: New per unit impedance

Zpu1: given per unit impedance

kV1: give base voltage

kV2: New bas votlage

kVA1: given bas power

kVA2: new base power

In the question

Zpu2=??

Zpu1= 0.3

kV2=24kV

kV1= 13.8 kV

kVA2= 1MVA ×1000= 1000 kVA

kVA1=500kVA

Zpu2= 0.3(13.8/24)²×(1000/500)

Zpu2= 0.198

b) to find ohmic impedance we will first calculate base value of impedance(Zbase). So,

Zbase= kV²/MVA

  Zbase= 13.8²/(500/1000)

  Zbase=380.88

Now that we have base value of impedance, Zbase, we can calculate actual ohmic value of impedance(Zactual) by using the following formula:

Zpu=Zactual/Zbase

0.3= Zactual/380.88

Zactual= 114.26 ohms

Two angles are supplementary. The first angle measures 40°. What is the measurement of the second angle?
e-lub [12.9K]

Supplementary angles add up to 180°.
If one is 40°, then the other is  (180° - 40°)  =  140° .

None of those choices describes a plane.
Choice 'C' is the only example of a plane.
