The exponent of the exponential function contains RC for the given circuit, which is called the time constant. Use the units of

R and C to find units of RC. Write ohms in terms of volts and amps and write farads in terms of volts and coulombs. Simplify until you get something simple. Show your work below.

Answer:

The unit of the time constant RC is the second

Explanation:

The unit of resistance, R is the Ohm, Ω and resistance, R = V/I where V = voltage and I = current. The unit of voltage is the volt, V while the unit of current is the ampere. A.

Since R = V/I

Unit of R = unit of V/unit of I

Unit of R = V/A

Ω = V/A

Also, The unit of capacitance, C is the Farad, F and capacitance, F = Q/V where Q = charge and V = voltage. the unit of charge is the coulomb, C while the unit of voltage is the volt, V

Since C = Q/V

Unit of C = unit of Q/unit of V

Unit of C = C/V

F = C/V

Now the time constant equals RC.

So, the unit of the time constant = unit of R × unit of C = Ω × F = V/A × C/V = C/A

Also. we know that the  1 Ampere = 1 Coulomb per second

1 A = 1 C/s

So, substituting 1 A in the denominator, we have

unit of RC =  C/A = C ÷ C/s = s

So, the unit of RC = s = second

So, the unit of the time constant RC is the second

A railroad car of mass 3.45 ✕ 104 kg moving at 2.60 m/s collides and couples with two coupled railroad cars, each of the same ma
Alex

Answer:

a) 1.67 m/s

b) 23kJ

Explanation:

We need to apply the linear momentum conservation formula, that states:

m1*v_{o1}+m2*v_{o2}=m1*v_{f1}+m2*v_{f2}

in this case:

3.45*10^4kg*2.60m/s+2*3.45*10^4kg*1.20m/s=3*m1*v_{f}\\v_f=1.67m/s

the initital kinetic energy is:

K_i=\frac{1}{2}*3.45*10^4kg*(2.60m/s)^2+2(\frac{1}{2}*3.45*10^4kg*(1.20m/s)^2\\K_i=167kJ

and the final:

K_f=3*\frac{1}{2}*3.45*10^4kg*(1.67m/s)^2\\K_f=144kJ

The energy lost is given by:

E_l=|K_f-K_i|\\E_l=23kJ

What is unit of pressure?why is it called a derived unit ? give reasons
olga55 [171]

pascal is the unit of pressure

The units of pressure is called derived units because it is simply derived from base unit which is distance and a derived unit which is force, which is derived from acceleration, a derived unit as well, and mass, a base unit. As we all know, work is defined as the force x distance. Thus making work a derived unit.Jun 23, 2020

A 1-kg discus is thrown with a vertical velocity of 19 m/s at an angle of 35 degrees from a height of 1.94 m. Do not factor in a
Travka [436]

Answer:

Vertical velocity   V_y = 10.89 \ m/s

Horizontal velocity  V_x = 15.57 \ m/s

Explanation:

If a 1 -kg is thrown vertically with a velocity of 19  m/s at an angle of 35 °C from a height 1.94 m

The vertical and horizontal component can be resolved as:

V_y = Vsin \theta \\ \\ \\\\V_x = Vcos \theta

For Vertical component :

V_y = V sin \theta \\\\V_y  = 19 * sin 35 \\ \\   V_y = 19* 0..5736 \\ \\ V_y = 10.89 \ m/s

For horizontal velocity

V_x = V cos \theta \\\\V_x  = 19 * cos 35 \\ \\   V_x = 19* 0.8192 \\ \\ V_x = 15.57 \ m/s
