Answer:

<h2>45cm</h2>

Explanation:

A converging mirror is also known as a concave mirror. For a concave mirror, its focal length and the image distance are both positive.

Using the mirror formula as shown to get the object distance;

\frac{1}{f} = \frac{1}{u} + \frac{1}{v}

f is the focal length of the mirror

u is the object distance

v is the image distance

Given f = 30cm and v = 2u (The image formed is twice the size of the pencil)

Substituting this values in the formula to get u we have;

\frac{1}{30} = \frac{1}{u} + \frac{1}{2u}\\\frac{1}{30} = \frac{2+1}{2u}\\\frac{1}{30} = \frac{3}{2u}\\

Cross multiplying we have;

2u = 90

Dividing both sides by 2;

2u/2 = 90/2

u = 45cm

The distance of the object from the mirror is 45cm

What happens if both the maximum voltage and current are exceeded and 10W of power must be dissipated?
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

If both the maximum voltage and current are exceeded  in a resistor, that the point will lie in the thermal breakdown of the resistor.

Explanation:

This indicated that there will be an abundance of free electrons which will be available freely. This abundance of the electrons in a conductor,  will result in the reduction of the overall conductivity. whereas in an insulator or semiconductor this will enhance the overall conductivity.

As the point lies in the thermal breakdown, the Ohm's law is no longer valid and thus no analytical solution can be presented in this regard.

What is the force required to produce a 1.4 Nm torque when applied to a door at a 60.0º angle and 0.40 m from the hinge?
Marysya12 [62]
Refer to the diagram shown below.

The component of the applied force perpendicular to the door is
F * sin(60°) = 0.866F N

Because the moment arm is 0.40 m, the torque is
(0.866F N)*(0.4 m) = 0.3464F N-m

This torque is equal to 1.4 N-m, therefore
0.3464F = 1.4
F = 4.04 N

Answer: 4.04 N
