Unit of gravitational force
azamat

Answer:

Newton

Explanation:

9.80665 × kgf = 1 Newton N

1 kilogram force (kgf) was the force of gravity, which is pushing a mass of 1 kg at one place in the world on the ground; calculated according to Newton's law force = mass × acceleration.

If frequency is kept constant, how are the velocity and wavelength of a wave related?
Elan Coil [88]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

Velocity and wavelength are directly proportional when frequency is kept constant.

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • <em><u>Frequency of a wave is the number of complete oscillations made by a given wave in one second. </u></em>
  • <em><u>Wavelength on the other hand, is the distance between two successful crests or troughs in a transverse wave or two successful rarefactions or compressions in a longitudinal waves.</u></em>
  • <em><u>The speed of a wave is given by the product of the frequency of a wave and the wavelength.</u></em>
  • <em><u>Speed = Frequency × wavelength, </u></em>
  • <em><u>Therefore, if frequency is kept constant, then the speed of a wave is directly proportional to the wavelength, such that an increase in wavelength increases the speed of the wave and vice versa.</u></em>

A horizontal spring with spring constant 130 N/m is compressed 17 cm and used to launch a 2.8 kg box across a frictionless, hori
olasank [31]

Explanation:

The given data is as follows.

        k = 130 N/m,       \Delta x = 17 cm = 0.17 m   (as 1 m = 100 cm)

     mass (m) = 2.8 kg

When the spring is compressed then energy stored in it is as follows.

             Energy = \frac{1}{2}kx^{2}

Now, spring energy gets converted into kinetic energy when the box is launched.

So,    \frac{1}{2}kx^{2} = \frac{1}{2}mv^{2}

   \frac{1}{2} \times 130 \times (0.17)^{2} = \frac{1}{2} \times 2.8 \times v^{2}

          v^{2} = \frac{3.757}{2.8}

                     = 1.34

                v = 1.15 m/sec

Now,

           Frictional force = \mu \times mg

                                    = 0.15 \times 2.8 \times 9.8

                                    = 4.116 N

Also,  Kinetic energy = work done by friction

           \frac{1}{2}mv^{2} = F_{f} \times d

           \frac{1}{2} \times 2.8 \times (1.15)^{2} = 4.116 \times d

             1.8515 = 4.116 \times d

                 d = 0.449 m

Thus, we can conclude that the box slides 0.449 m across the rough surface before stopping.

Imagine that Earth stops orbiting the Sun but continues to rotate in place about its own axis at its current rate. In this case,
otez555 [7]

Answer:

The length of the solar day will get shorter.

Explanation:

  • The blue planet Earth not only rotates around it's own axis but also rotates around the Sun and everyday it moves a little bit around the axis.
  • Since the speed of the Earth's rotation on it's own axis and around the Sun is constant we don't feel the effects of the rotation.We can only feel the motion if the earth changes it's rotation speed.
  • If by any means or chance the Earth stopped spinning (stopped rotation) then the atmosphere surrounding the Earth would be in motion and all the Earth's land would be scoured clean.
