Answer:

2275000 lb.ft

Explanation:

Let work done on the cable be denoted by: W_ca

Let work done on the coal be denoted by: W_co

Now, dividing the cable into segments, let x represent the length from top of the mine shaft to the segment.

Meanwhile let δx be the length of the segment.

We are told the cable weighs 8 lb/ft. Thus;

Work done on one segment = 8 × δx × x = 8x•δx

Therefore, work done on cable is;

W_ca = ∫8x•δx between the boundaries of 0 and 650

Thus;

W_ca = 4x² between the boundaries of 0 and 650

W_ca = 4(650²) - 4(0²)

W_ca = 1,690,000 lb.ft

Workdone on the 900 lb of coal will be calculated as;

W_co = 900 × 650

W_co = 585000 lb.ft

Thus,

Total work done = W_ca + W_co

Total workdone = 1690000 + 585000

Total workdone = 1690000 + 585000

Total workdone = 2275000 lb.ft

A 25.0 kg block is initially at rest on a horizontal surface. A horizontal force of 75.0 N is required to set the block in motio
QveST [7]

Answer:

(a) 0.31

(b) 0.245

Explanation:

(a)

F' = μ'mg.................... Equation 1

Where F' = Horizontal Force required to set the block in motion, μ' = coefficient of static friction, m = mass of the block, g = acceleration due to gravity.

make μ' the subject of the equation above

μ' = F'/mg............. Equation 2

Given: F' = 75 N, m = 25 kg

constant: g = 9.8 m/s²

Substitute these values into equation 2

μ' = 75/(25×9.8)

μ' = 75/245

μ' = 0.31.

(b) Similarly,

F = μmg.................. Equation 3

Where F = Horizontal force that is required to keep the block moving with constant speed, μ = coefficient of kinetic friction.

make μ the subject of the equation

μ = F/mg.............. Equation 4

Given: F = 60 N, m = 25 kg, g = 9.8 m/s²

Substitute these values into equation 4

μ = 60/(25×9.8)

μ = 60/245

μ = 0.245

if you're shopping for a rack switch, what component on the switch tells you it can be mounted to a rack?
Tatiana [17]

if you're shopping for a rack switch, the component on the switch that tells you it can be mounted to a rack is the:

 • Rack ears

What are rack ears?

Rack ears are L-shaped objects that can be used to hold a rack switch firmly to the support walls. Rack ears are often found at the front panel of the rack which is to be mounted.

When a person purchases a rack switch and finds the rack ears there, it is a signal that the item can be secured firmly to rails. Sometimes, the rack ears also appear as extensions.

answer:projectile motion

Explanation:

Since gravity acts vertically, there is no acceleration in the horizontal (x) direction. This special type of two-dimensional motion is called projectile motion.
