Answer:

π

Step-by-step explanation:

Solve for x on the interval [0, 2pi]

Given the equation

Sinx = cosx + 1

Square both sides of the equation

Sin²x = (cos x + 1)²

Sin²x = cos²x + 2cos x + 1

Since Sin²x = 1 - cos²x

1 - cos²x = cos²x + 2cos x + 1

Collect like terms

1-1-cos²x-cos²x-2cos x  = 0

-2cos²x-2cos x = 0

-2cos²x = 2cos x

-cosx = 1

cos x = -1

x = arccos -1

x = 180 degrees

<em>Hence the value of x = π</em>

Choose all the polynomials that are in standard form?
Allisa [31]
<h3>2 Answers: Choice B and Choice D</h3>

==========================================================

Explanation:

Standard form will always have the largest exponents listed first on the left side. Then as you move to the right, the exponents will decrease. Choice B shows this with the exponents counting down (3,2). Choice D is a similar story with the exponents counting down (9,2,1,0). Think of -6x as -6x^1, and also think of the 10 as 10x^0.

Something like choice A is a non-answer because the term with the largest exponent 3 is buried in the middle, and not at the left side. The exponents are not in decreasing order. Choice C can be ruled out for similar reasons.

Side note: the largest exponent is the degree of the polynomial. This only applies to single variable polynomials.

in a canoe race, a team paddles downstream 480 m in 60 s. The same team makes the trip upstream in 80 s. Find the team's rate in
Vera_Pavlovna [14]
480=60(v+s)

480=60v+60s

8=v+s

s=8-v...

480=80(v-s)  using s from above we get:

480=80(v-(8-v))

6=v-8+v

6=2v-8

2v=14

v=7, and since s=8-v, s=1

So the rate of the team is 7m/s while the rate of the stream is 1m/s
