Answer:

384.15 mL

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Initial pressure (P₁) = 1 atm

Initial volume (V₁) = 315 mL

Final pressure (P₂) = 0.82 atm

Final volume (V₂) =?

The new volume (i.e final volume) of the bag can be obtained as follow:

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

1 × 315 = 0.82 × V₂

315 = 0.82 × V₂

Divide both side by 0.82

V₂ = 315 / 0.82

V₂ = 384.15 mL

Therefore, the new volume of the bag is 384.15 mL

Which of the following requires a critical mass?
scoundrel [369]

Answer:

A) fission

Explanation:

Fission reactions require a critical mass. The critical mass is necessary because it makes a fission reaction self sustaining. This critical mass is the minimum amount of material required. Nuclear fission additionally depends on the composition, purity and concentration of the fissile material. Critical mass is important in the design of nuclear warheads.

Which statement explains why the bonds between nonmetals tend to be covalent? The bonds are found to be nondirectional. They hav
Alexandra [31]
Correct Answer: <span>They have small differences in electronegativity (statement 3)
Reason:
The nature of chemical bond between atoms is primarily driven by the electronegativity  difference between constituent atoms. If electronegativity difference between constituent atoms is significantly higher, ionic bond formation is preferred. On other hand, low difference in electronegativity values, favours formation of covalent bond.

If the enthalpy change of a reaction in a flask is δh = +67 kj, what can be said about the reaction?
ziro4ka [17]
Answer : Normally in any chemical reaction, if the enthalpy change i.e. ΔH is positive which means it is greater than zero then it can be called as an Endothermic Reaction.

Whereas, the system under study is absorbing heat that is produced during the reaction. So if  ΔH  is found to be positive then it can be called as endothermic reaction.
