The relative humidity would be ________% if the actual water vapor in the air was 4 grams per cubic meter, the air's capacity to
AveGali [126]

Answer:

50%

Explanation:

Humidity is the amount water vapor present in the atmosphere.

Relative humidity is defined as the ratio of partial water vapor present in air to the actual water vapor at a particular temperature. It is expressed in percentage and the higher the percentage RH, the more the saturated water vapor present in the atmosphere and vice versa.

It is expressed mathematically as shown;

RH = actual water vapor in air/saturated water vapor × 100%

If the actual water vapor in the air was 4 grams per cubic meter and the air's capacity to hold water vapor was 8 grams per cubic meter

Actual water vapor = 4g/cm³

Air's water capacity (saturated water vapor) = 8g/cm³

RH = 4/8×100

RH = 50%

It takes Mars about ____ Earth years to orbit the Sun.
OlgaM077 [116]
<span>At this distance, and with an orbital speed of 24.077 km/s, Mars takes 686.971 Earth days, the equivalent of 1.88 Earth years, to complete a orbit around the Sun. This eccentricity is one of the most pronounced in the Solar System, with only Mercury having a greater one (0.205).

If it requires 2.0 J of work to stretch a particular spring by 2.0 cm from its equilibrium length, how much more work will be re
valina [46]

Answer:

16 J

Explanation:

It is given that,

Work done, W = 2 J

A spring is stretched by 2.0 cm from its equilibrium length

We need to find how much more work will be required to stretch it an additional 4.0 cm.

Let k is the spring constant of the spring. When W = 2J, and x = 2 cm, then energy required to stretch the spring is :

U=\dfrac{1}{2}kx^2\\\\k=\dfrac{2U}{x^2}\\\\k=\dfrac{2(2)}{(0.02)^2}\\\\k=10000\ N/m

The energy required to stretch the spring from 2 cm to additional 4 cm i.e. 2+4= 6 cm.

W=\dfrac{1}{2}k(x_2^2-x_1^2)\\\\=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 10000\times ((0.06)^2-(0.02)^2)\\\\W=16\ J

So, the required work done is 16 J.

Why does a properly adjusted head restraint help prevent head and neck injuries to occupants in rear-end collisions? Explain you
hammer [34]
When a car hits you in a rear end collision, the car initially has a momentum going in one direction. This causes your car to move in the same direction that car was moving even if you were at rest. So, for conservation of momentum, you initially have momentum going in the east direction for example, after the collision, you will have a change in momentum which causes you to have a velocity in the west direction. This is because you are initially at rest and then there is a sudden change in velocity so when you speed up, that momentum causes you to move backwards. If you don't have a properly adjusted neckrest you could may experience whiplash.
