You are interested in estimating the the mean age of the citizens living in your community. In order to do this, you plan on con

structing a confidence interval; however, you are not sure how many citizens should be included in the sample. If you want your sample estimate to be within 5 years of the actual mean with a confidence level of 94%, how many citizens should be included in your sample? Assume that the standard deviation of the ages of all the citizens in this community is 22 years.

Answer:

The sample size is    n = 68

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The margin of error is  E = 5 \ years

     The standard deviation is  \sigma = 22

From the question we are told the confidence level is  94% , hence the level of significance is

      \alpha = (100 - 94 ) \%

=>   \alpha = 0.06

Generally from the normal distribution table the critical value  of  \frac{\alpha }{2} is

   Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } =  1.881

Generally the sample size is mathematically represented as

   n = [\frac{Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } *  \sigma }{E} ] ^2

=>  n = [\frac{1.881 } *  22 }{5} ] ^2

=>  n = 68

Answer:

No solution.

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Algebra I</u>

  • Solving systems of equations by graphing

Step-by-step explanation:

If the lines are parallel, they will have no solutions.

If the lines are the same, they will have infinite solutions.

If the lines are anything else, they will usually have 1 solution.

If we graph the systems of equations, we see that the lines are parallel.

∴ the systems has no solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

a+b+c=180°

64°+b+c=180°

b=c

2b+64°=180°

2b=180-64

2b=116°

b=116/2

b=58°=c

The price of a technology stock has dropped to $9.71 today. Yesterday's price was $9.80. Find the percentage decrease.
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

The percentage decrease = 0.9%

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Initial value = $9.80
  • Final value = $9.71

Using the formula

Percentage Decrease = [ (Initial Value - Final Value) / |Initial Value| ] × 100

                                    = [(9.80 - 9.71 ) / (9.80)] × 100

                                    = [0.09 / 9.80] × 100

                                    = 0.009 × 100

                                    = 0.9%

Therefore, the percentage decrease = 0.9%
