Answer:   Iodine

Explanation:  Cesium is the alkali metal which belongs to the group 1 of the periodic table.

Iodine is the Group 17 element which are known as the Halogens as they are the group of the most electronegative atoms.

Zinc belongs to the Transition metal d block .

Xenon belongs to the Group 18 of noble gases.

The electronic configuration will help us to determine which can gain electron to have a full outermost shell.

Cesium (Cs) = [Xe] 6s1

Zinc (Zn) = [Ar] 3d10 4s2

Iodine(I) =  [Kr] 4d10 5s2 5p5

Xenon (Xe) = Kr 4d10 5s2 5p6

Thus Iodine can easily gain one electron to have complete outermost shell.

Iodine has 7 valence electrons. It needs therefore only 1 electron to be stable this is why it is so reactive.

How many sodium ions are in 4543.3 g of NaCl?
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

4.68x10²⁵ ions of Na⁺

Explanation:

First of all, we dissociate the salt:

NaCl(aq) → Na⁺(aq) + Cl⁻(aq)

An aqueous solution of NaCl dissociates in chlorides anions and sodium cations. Ratio is 1:1, per 1 mol of NaCl, we have 1 mol of Na⁺

We determine the moles of salt: 4543.3 g . 1mol / 58.45 g = 77.7 moles

77.7 moles are the amount of NaCl, therefore we have 77.7 moles of Na⁺.

We count the ions:

1 mol fo Na⁺ has 6.02x10²³ ions

77.7 moles of Na⁺ must have (77.7 . 6.02x10²³) / 1 = 4.68x10²⁵ ions of Na⁺

Suppose 180 ml of 3.52x10^-4 M NaOH is mixed with 220 mL of 2.47x10^-4 M MgCl2.
velikii [3]
When in water, MgCl2 dissociates into magnesium ions and Cl- ions and NaOH into Na and OH ions. The equation is as follows:

MgCl2 = Mg2+ + 2Cl-
NaOH = Na+ + OH-

The initial concentrations are as follows:

[Mg2+] = .220(<span> 2.47x10^-4) / .220+.180 = 1.36x10^-4 M Mg2+
</span>[OH-] = .180 (3.52x10^-4) / .220+.180 = 1.58x10^-4 M OH-
