A four-lane divided multilane highway (two lanes in each direction) in rolling terrain has five access points per mile and 11-ft

lanes with a 4-ft shoulder on the right side and a 2-ft shoulder on the left. The peak-hour factor is 0.84 and the traffic stream consists of 6% trucks, 4% buses, and 3% recreational vehicles. The driver population adjustment factor is estimated at 0.90. If the analysis flow rate is 1250 pc/h/ln, what is the peak-hour volume

Answer:

peak-hour volume = 1890 veh/h

Explanation:

<u>Determine the peak-hour Volume </u>

Applying the equation below

Vp =  v / ( PHF * N * Fg * Fdp )  -------------- ( 1 )

where :

Vp = 1250

v ( peak - hour volume ) =  ?

PHF ( peak hour factor ) = 0.84

N  = 2 lanes per direction

Fg ( grade adjustment for rolling terrain ) = 0.99 ≈ 1

Fdp = 0.90

<u>Back to equation 1 </u>

v = Vp (  PHF * N * Fg * Fdp )

  = 1250 ( 0.84 * 2 * 1 * 0.90 )

  = 1890 veh/h

Web application Firewall (WAF)

Explanation:

The Web application Firewall (WAF) will be recommended. This will enormously help any organisation that is having a struggle of differentiating threats from normal traffic and access to systems.

WAF is also going to It aggregate data and provide metrics that will assist in identifying malicious actors. Another vital function of WAF will be to block unwanted web traffic from accessing your site. It will protect against hacks, brute force attacks, DDoS attacks, cross-site scripting, SQL injection, and zero-day exploits.

A pump is used to deliver water from a lake to an elevated storage tank. The pipe network consists of 1,800 ft (equivalent lengt
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

h_f = 15 ft, so option A is correct

Explanation:

The formula for head loss is given by;

h_f = [10.44•L•Q^(1.85)]/(C^(1.85))•D^(4.8655))

Where;

h_f is head loss due to friction in ft

L is length of pipe in ft

Q is flow rate of water in gpm

C is hazen Williams constant

D is diameter of pipe in inches

We are given;

L = 1,800 ft

Q = 600 gpm

C = 120

D = 8 inches

So, plugging in these values into the equation, we have;

h_f = [10.44*1800*600^(1.85)]/(120^(1.85))*8^(4.8655))

h_f = 14.896 ft.

So, h_f is approximately 15 ft

What is an isochoric process? b) Can heat be exchanged in an isochoric process? c) A 100L container holding an ideal gas at an i
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer:

a)A constant volume process is called isochoric process.

b)Yes

c)Work =0

Explanation:

Isochoric process:

 A constant volume process is called isochoric process.

In constant volume process work done on the system or work done by the system will remain zero .Because we know that work done give as

work = PΔV

Where P is pressure and ΔV is the change in volume.

For constant volume process ΔV = 0⇒ Work =0

Yes heat transfer can be take place in isochoric process.Because we know that temperature difference leads to transfer of heat.

Given that

Initial P=10 MPa

Final pressure =15 MPa

Volume = 100 L

Here volume of gas is constant so the work work done will be zero.

The disk of radius 0.4 m is originally rotating at ωo=4 rad/sec. If it is subjected to a constant angular acceleration of α=5 ra
Lina20 [59]

Answer:32.4m/s^2

Explanation:

Given data

radius\left ( r\right )=0.4m

Intial angular velocity\left ( \omega_0\right )=4rad/s

angular acceleration\left ( \alpha\right )=5rad/s^2

angular velocity after 1 sec

\omega=\omega_0+\alpha\times\t

\omega=4+5\left ( 1\right )

\omega=9rad/s

Velocity of point on the outer surface of disc\left ( v\right )=\omega_0\timesr

v=9\times0.4 m/s=3.6m/s

Normal component of acceleration\left ( a_c\right )=\frac{v^2}{r}

a_c=\frac{3.6\times3.6}{0.4}=32.4m/s^2
