Paper is stable at room temperature in the presence of oxygen (O2) because it requires ____________ to start the reaction.
larisa86 [58]

Answer:

Energy

Explanation:

Paper is oxidized in the presence of oxygen. This reaction however proceeds very slowly until energy is supplied to the system. This implies that the reaction is not spontaneous at room temperature. A spontaneous reaction takes place without any need for external supply of energy.

The need for supply of external energy must be as a result of the high activation energy required for the reaction to go to completion. If a chemical reaction has a high activation energy, it will require an external supply of energy in order for such reaction to occur.

Need chem help asap, thanks

Well, for the atoms, one mole of anything has Avagadros number of atoms. For grams, look at the periodic table and the atomic mass is the molar mass. For the gaseous liters (O2 ,H2,and the bottom one which is STP), any mole of a gas at STP has a volume of 22.4 liters. The top one with the capital M is molarity and the equation for molarity is M=moles of thing/volume in liters. So you have the molarity which is two and the number of moles which is one. solve dor volume. So there you go.

Why does the temperature of different layers of the atmosphere vary
scoundrel [369]
It has different reasons. the temperature difference is basically the main reason why the earth atmosphere has layers.
Theoretically the temperature varies because of the different molecules and atoms. for instance the first layer known as troposphere has the greenhouse effect of CO2,CH4, etc. and is covered with a layer of O3...
