The purpose of the electoral college is to elect government officials. With the use of the electoral college the original belief was when it was first in play, the American citizens were not all educated and there was a large divide. With that divide, they didn’t want someone who was uneducated to run for president. So they created the electoral college with the idea that the individuals electoral voting seats were educated and had the ability to follow what the American citizens wanted but still educated and what American needed

Creating a central dogma in sociology would be like creating a central dogma of explaining humanity.
