A car traveling in a straight line has a velocity of 3.29 m/s at some instant. After 4.99 s, its velocity is 8.29 m/s.
seraphim [82]

Use the definition of average acceleration:

a = ∆v / ∆t

We have

a = (8.29 m/s - 3.29 m/s) / (4.99 s)

a = 1.002 m/s²

What does the doppler effect indicate about the motion of galaxies?
Taya2010 [7]
When galaxies move farther away the wavelength of the light is longer causing the galaxy to shift red but if it moves closer, the wavelength of the light gets smaller causing the galaxy to blue shift. The reason that the wavelength increases or decrease is due to the doppler effect.
