The combination of chemical reactions through which an organism builds up or breaks down materials as it carries out its life processes is called metabolism.

Its main purpose is to convert food to energy.

Explanation:

Metabolism can even confer with the add of all chemical reactions that occur in living organisms, together with digestion and therefore the transport of drugs into and between totally different cells, during which case the set of reactions among the cells is named intermediator metabolism or intermediate metabolism.

The combination of chemical reactions through which organisms build up or break down materials as it carries out its life processes is called metabolism

Further explanation

In the body of a living creature, a chemical reaction called metabolism

This reaction can be divided into formation reactions and reaction changes/decomposition

Composition reactions are known as anabolic reactions such as body cell reactions in forming fat, protein or reactions in plant cells in forming organic substances through photosynthesis

While the decomposition reaction is catabolic. Like the decomposition of sugar by body cells into carbon dioxide gas, water, and energy. This process is better known as the process of respiration, where the energy obtained is used for the activities of living things

Respiration requires oxygen obtained during breathing and produces carbon dioxide as a residual result of respiration

The metabolic process produces residual substances that can poison the body if not removed. So that there is an excretion process that is the process of removing residual substances.

Answer:

A sample of a gas (5.0 mol) at 1.0 atm is expanded at constant temperature from 10 L to 15 L. The final pressure is 0.67 atm.

Step by Step Explanation?

Boyle's law states that in constant temperature the variation volume of gas is inversely proportional to the applied pressure.

The formula is,

P₁ x V₁ = P₂ × V₂

Where,

P₁ is initial pressure = 1 atm

P2 is final pressure = ? (Not Known)

V₁ is initial volume = 10 L

V₂ is final volume = 15 L

Now put the values in the formula,

\begin{gathered}\rm 1\times 10 = P_2\times 15\\\\\rm P_2 = \frac{10}{15\\} \\\\\rm P_2 = 0.67\end{gathered]

Therefore, the answer is 0.67 atm.

What are the roles of producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers for the trophic levels in the energy
Nesterboy [21]
This question is more for Biology than Chemistry, but the role of producers is to make energy (food) to be consumed. In a pyramid diagram, the producers would be at the bottom. Now going up the pyramid, the primary conumers are the first to consume producers and obtain energy from them. As you go up the pyramid, the secondary consumers will consume the primary consumers as a way to obtain energy, and the same goes for tertiary consumers towards secondaries.

As you go up the energy pyramid, you will notice a trend that there is less energy being obtained from each consumer. In other words, the producers will ALWAYS have more energy than the tertiary consumers.

I hope this answers your question.

Show the difference in the reactivity of Na,Ca,Mg,Al,Fe,Cu with H2O
Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

Explanation:

Na react with H2O to form NAOH

2 Na+2H2O....................2NAOH + H2

Ca react with water and form calcium hydroxide

Ca + 2H2O........................Ca(OH)2

Mg react with water and form Magnesium hydroxide

Mg +2H2O .........................Mg(OH)2 however this coating of mg(oh)2 prevent it from further reaction

Fe react with water and form ferric hydride

3Fe +H2O.......................2 FeH +FeO

copper do not react with water

What is the freezing point of a solution of 0.5 mol of LiBr in 500 mL of water? (Kf = 1.86°C/m) –1.86°C –7.44°C –5.58°C –3.72°C
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

  • Last choice: - 3.72°C

Explanation:

The freezing point depression in a solvent is a colligative property: it depends on the number of solute particles.

The equation to predict the freezing point depression in a solvent is:

  • ΔTf = Kf × m × i

Where,

  • ΔTf is the freezing point depression of the solvent,
  • m is the molality,
  • Kf is the cryoscopic molal constant of the solvent, and i is the Van'f Hoff factor, which is the number of ions produced by each unit formula of the ionic compound.
