Answer:

581 Joules.

Explanation:

Using the formula;

Q = m × c × ∆T

Where;

Q = amount of heat absorbed (J)

m = mass of substance (g)

c = specific heat capacity (J/g°C)

∆T = change in temperature (°C)

According to the information provided in this question;

Q = ?

mass of ice = 15.9g

initial temperature = -4°C

final temperature = 14°C

Hence, ∆T = 14 - (-4) = 14 + 4 = 18°C

specific heat capacity (c) of ice in J/g°C = 2.03 J/g°C

Using Q = m × c × ∆T

Q = 15.9 × 2.03 × 18

Q = 32 × 18

Q = 581 Joules.

(b) The mass of a single molybdenum atom is 1.59×10-22 g. Suppose enough Mo atoms were lined up like beads on a string to span a
serious [3.7K]

Answer:N=1151724138 atoms

Explanation:The atomic radius of molybdenum atom is 145 picometers so lining up molybdenum atoms is like lining up the beads of radius 145 picometers

so one bead would cover the length of 145*2=290 picometers

hence the atom's diameter =D=290 picometers

D=290 *10^(-12)

D=290/1000000000000

also

Distance span= 33.4 cm

Distance span= 0.334m

As the Distance span adds up with no of atoms the resulting formula is

Distance span by atoms= No of atoms * atom's diameter

so

N=\frac{Distance Spaned}{Atom's Diameter } \\N=0.334/(0.000000000290)\\N=1151724138 atoms

Answer:

Mixing colored lights & mixing colored paints. The primary colors of light are also known as the additive colors, because, when you add these three colors of light (red, green and blue) your brain perceives white light. The primary colors of paints, however, are known as subtractive colors.

When parallel light rays exit a concave lens,the light ray is?
ad-work [718]
When parallel rays exit a concave lens, the light rays are divergent.
The rays diverge or bend away from the axis it has been traveling upon entering the lens when it reaches the other side of the lens. These rays appear to have come from the same focal point before entering the concave lens. When these parallel rays are extended, it will be traced back to a single point of origin.
