The momentum of a moving body is given as:

momentum, P = mass of the body x its velocity

i. For the Freight,

mass = 5000 tons = 4535924 kg

speed = 10 mph  = 4.4704 m/s

P = mv

  = 4535924 x 4.4704

  = 20.28 x 10^{6}

P = 20.28 x 10^{6} kgm/s

ii. For the Ferrari,

mass = 3250 lb = 1474.175 kg

speed = 250 mph = 111.76 m/s

P = mv

   = 1474.175 x 111.76

   = 16.48 x 10^{4}

P = 16.48 x 10^{4} kgm/s

Comparing the momentum of the two objects, the Ferrari would stop fist when break is applied.
