Explain partial eclipse and total eclipse for lunar eclipse in detail and summarise

Physics

Answer:

A total eclipse occurs when the dark silhouette of the Moon completely obscures the intensely bright light of the Sun, allowing the much fainter solar aureole to be visible. During any one eclipse, totality occurs at best only in a narrow track on the surface of Earth. This narrow track is called the path of totality.

A partial lunar eclipse happens when part of the Moon enters Earth's shadow. In a partial eclipse, Earth's shadow appears very dark on the side of the Moon facing Earth.

Explain why stationary waves are seen only certain frequencies (3 marks)
Anettt [7]

Explanation:

The underlying physics give rise to periodic behavior. Usually, some resonance is involved, in which the media damps waves except those at a specific frequency.

__

Only waves at a specific frequency are recognized as being "stationary." If the frequency varies, the behavior is described as "chaotic." So, it's partly a matter of definition.

What is the average speed, over the first 1.0 s of its motion, of a pebble released from rest off a bridge?
frutty [35]
By definition, the speed after a time t of the pebble is v(t)=g\cdot t where g\approx 10m/s^2 is the G-force's acceleration.

Therefore the average value over one second is \ \textless \ v\ \textgreater \ =\int_0^1v(t)dt=\left[\frac12gt^2\right]_0^1=\frac g2

Using g=10m/s^2 we therefore have an average speed of \boxed{\ \textless \ v\ \textgreater \ =5m/s}

In the electromagnetic spectrum, _______ is the _______ frequency color of visible light.
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

The visible spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to the human eye. Electromagnetic radiation in this range of wavelengths is called visible light or simply light. A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nm.[1] In terms of frequency, this corresponds to a band in the vicinity of 430–770 THz.

The spectrum does not, however, contain all the colors that the human eyes and brain can distinguish. Unsaturated colors such as pink, or purple variations such as magenta, are absent, for example, because they can be made only by a mix of multiple wavelengths. Colors containing only one wavelength are also called pure colors or spectral colors.

Visible wavelengths pass through the "optical window", the region of the electromagnetic spectrum that allows wavelengths to pass largely unattenuated through the Earth's atmosphere. An example of this phenomenon is that clean air scatters blue light more than red wavelengths, and so the midday sky appears blue. The optical window is also referred to as the "visible window" because it overlaps the human visible response spectrum. The near infrared (NIR) window lies just out of the human vision, as well as the Medium Wavelength IR (MWIR) window, and the Long Wavelength or Far Infrared (LWIR or FIR) window, although other animals may experience them.
