Data is just data and has no intrinsic meaning on its own. Evidence has to be evidence for or of something; an argument, an opinion, a viewpoint or a hypothesis. The evidence you use depends on your argument.

c) What is the pH of the buffer system in part a when 0.030 moles of strong acid are added (without a change in volume)
pishuonlain [190]

Answer:

remain the same

Explanation:

The pH of the buffer system remain the same when 0.030 moles of strong acid are added because buffer system has the property to resist any change in the pH  when acid or base is added to the solution. In buffer system, one molecule is responsible for neutralizing the pH of the solution by giving H+ or OH-.This molecule is known as buffer agent. If more base is added, the molecule provide H+ and when more acid is added to the solution, then the molecule add OH- to the solution.

How would a solute affect the boiling point of water?
Alex787 [66]
The answer is C. The water will boil at a higher temperature. This is because the solute is an impurity that raises the boiling point and lowers the melting point of water.

describe the temperature changes that occurs in ice as energy is added starting and is it in the Frozen State and ending in the
kherson [118]
The temperature of the ice will go up from negative whatever to 0 Celsius. Then, it will use up energy to melt (this is what we call heat of fusion).

The temperature will then go from 0 to 100. Once it reaches 100, it will use up energy to vaporize (this is what we call heat of vaporization).

7. How many grams of CIF3 form from 130.0 grams of Cl2 when F2 is in excess?
Gnoma [55]

339 grams of CLF3 is formed when F2 is in excess and 130 grams of CL2 reacts.

Explanation:

The balanced chemical reaction for the formation of ClF3 is given by:

Cl_{2} + 3 F_{2} ⇒ 2 ClF_{3}

the mass of Cl2 is given 130 grams

From the equation it is found that 2 moles of chloride reacts to form 2 moles of ClF3.

calculating the number of moles of chlorine by the formula:

Number of moles = mass of the substance ÷ atomic mass of one mole of the substance

n = 130 ÷ 35.45

   = 3.6671 moles

So, applying stoichiometry

2 moles of Cl2 formed 2 moles of ClF3

3.6671 moles of Cl2 will form x moles of ClF3

2 ÷ 2 = x ÷ 3.6671

x = 3.6671 moles of ClF3

now from the formula of number of moles

weight is calculated as n × mass of the gas

                                    3.6671 × 92.448

                                    =  339.01 grams of ClF3 is formed.
