According to the question;

1 pound of the fruit is sold at $1.99

x pounds of the fruit will be sold at $10.80 (remember that you are supposed to spend all the money in your pocket)

So;

x = 1 pound *  $10.80/$1.99

x = 5.32 pounds of fruit.
