For the rotating fan that completes 1160 revolutions every minute, with a tip's radius of 19.0 cm, we have:

a) The tip will move a distance of 1.19 m in one revolution.

b) The tip's speed is 23.08 m/s.

c) The magnitude of the tip's acceleration is 2803.6 m/s².

d) The period of the motion is 0.052 s.

a) The distance to which the tip move in one revolution is given by the circumference of the circle:

d = 2 \pi r

Where:

r: is the radius of the blade = 19.0 cm

d = 2 \pi r = 2\pi*0.19 m = 1.19 m

Hence, the tip will move a <u>distance of 1.19 m</u> in one revolution.

b) The speed of the tip can be calculated with the following equation:

v = \omega r

Where:

ω: is the angular speed = 1160 rev/min

Then, the<u> tip's speed</u> is:

v = \omega r = 1160 \frac{rev}{min}*\frac{2\pi rad}{1 rev}*\frac{1 min}{60 s}*0.19 m = 23.08 m/s

c) The acceleration of the tip is given by:

a = \frac{v^{2}}{r} = \frac{(23.08 m/s)^{2}}{0.19 m} = 2803.6 m/s^{2}

Therefore, the magnitude of the <u>acceleration is 2803.6 m/s²</u>.

d) The period of the motion is:

T = \frac{1}{f} = \frac{2\pi}{\omega}

Where:

f: is the frequency

T = \frac{2\pi}{\omega} = \frac{2\pi}{1160 \frac{rev}{min}*\frac{2\pi rad}{1 rev}*\frac{1 min}{60 s}} = 0.052 s

Hence, the <u>period</u> of the motion <u>is 0.052 s</u>.

Why does it take mars over 500 days to orbit the sun?
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

Mar's orbital path is more than that of Earth, thus it takes more number of days to orbit around the sun.

Explanation:

Mars takes over 500 days to orbit all the way around the sun than Earth because its distance from the sun (228 million kilometers) is greater than that of Earth (150 million kilometers) which takes it 365 days.

Planets that orbit closer to the sun take shorter time to orbit around the sun because the cover a shorter orbital distance and orbit faster than those planets further from the sun.

<u>For example</u>

Using Earth's distance from the sun, 150 million kilometers and the number of days taken to orbits the sun ,365 days and the distance Mars is from the Earth, 228 million kilometers, you can approximate the time Mar takes to orbit the sun as:

Earth 150 million kilometers  = 365 days

Mars  228 million kilometers= ?

Cross product ; (228 *365) /150 =555 -----(a value closer to that in the question)

Jupiter’s Great Red Spot rotates completely every six days. If the spot is circular (not quite true, but a reasonable approximat
artcher [175]

Answer:

v = 567.2 km/h

Explanation:

As we know that if Jupiter Rotate one complete rotation then it means that the it will turn by 360 degree angle

so here the distance covered by the point on its surface in one complete rotation is given by

distance = 2\pi r

distance = \pi D

now we will have the time to complete the rotation given as

t = 6 days

t = 6 (24 h) = 144 h

now the speed is given by

speed = \frac{distance}{time}

speed = \frac{\pi D}{t}

speed = \frac{\pi(26000 km)}{144}

v = 567.2 km/h

A particle with mass 1.81×10−3 kg and a charge of 1.22×10−8 C has, at a given instant, a velocity v⃗ =(3.00×104m/s)j^. What are
slava [35]

Answer:

The magnitude and direction of the acceleration of the particle is a= 0.3296\ \hat{k}\ m/s^2

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass m = 1.81\times10^{-3}\ kg

Velocity v = (3.00\times10^{4}\ m/s)j

Charge q = 1.22\times10^{-8}\ C

Magnetic field B= (1.63\hat{i}+0.980\hat{j})\ T

We need to calculate the acceleration of the particle

Formula of the acceleration is defined as

F = ma=q(v\times B)

a =\dfrac{q(v\times B)}{m}

We need to calculate the value of v\times B

v\times B=(3.00\times10^{4}\ m/s)j\times(1.63\hat{i}+0.980\hat{j})

v\times B=4.89\times10^{4}

Now, put the all values into the acceleration 's formula

a =\dfrac{1.22\times10^{-8}\times(-4.89\times10^{4}\hat{k})}{1.81\times10^{-3}}

a= -0.3296\ \hat{k}\ m/s^2

Negative sign shows the opposite direction.

Hence, The magnitude and direction of the acceleration of the particle is a= 0.3296\ \hat{k}\ m/s^2
